Your Secret Is Safe With Me… and My Sisters

“Don’t tell anybody” apparently has a sisters exception.
Zach and Amy open Friendly Court with a question that could get both of them in trouble: does telling your spouse a secret still count as keeping it? Amy would like to extend that protection to all of her sisters. Zach has questions.
Also up for debate: saying “I’m on my way” while you’re still in bed, telling a friend their homemade food is bad, and whether every husband gets one ugly thing in the house.
Before court is in session, Amy has two confessions: she’s back on Monster, and those “$500” shoes need a little more explaining. Plus, a stressful vet visit for DOC, Zach’s new-house update, and a listener question about whether someone’s kissing history matters.
Where do you draw the line: spouse, sisters, or absolutely nobody?

Alright, welcome back to Legally Friends. I'm Zach, and this is my sister-in-law Amy. So let's just get right into it. What's new from this week? I feel like I haven't talked to you, I haven't talked to you at all this week, which is always a great thing, and I always love avoid talking to you during the week. Just kidding. But what else?
SPEAKER_06First of all, that's just rude.
SPEAKER_00Give me give me the news. Give me the drama. What happened?
SPEAKER_06Okay, fine. Stop interrogating me. I will confess what I did.
SPEAKER_00It's coming hot today.
SPEAKER_06I have a confession. And Michael and Shannon, if you're listening to this, I sincerely apologize.
SPEAKER_00So it's a muddy confession.
SPEAKER_06Okay, so fine. I have two confessions.
SPEAKER_00Oh my gosh. Okay, go. Let's hear it.
SPEAKER_06My first question.
SPEAKER_00Wait, can I guess? Let me guess. Let me guess the confession.
SPEAKER_06Okay, okay, okay, okay, go.
SPEAKER_00Wait, one's a muddy confession? What's the second one? Can you give me like a broad category?
SPEAKER_06Um, okay something I shall.
SPEAKER_00Something you okay. First guess. You bought a truck. And you legit.
SPEAKER_06No! Okay, okay. Are you insane?
SPEAKER_00I don't know. That's not that insane. Last week you were literally acting like you were just ordering at Swig, talking about the truck you wanted as you were yelling at Shan.
SPEAKER_06Well, I was telling Shannon to make sure she knows what kind of truck I want to get.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so that wasn't that crazy of a guess.
SPEAKER_06Well, if I'm confessing something, it means that I like did it like not with permission, not with permission. I can't go buy a truck without permission. Are you crazy?
SPEAKER_00Uh no, it's not that crazy. Uh you pretty much committed to a horse that costs half the battle of the truck without telling anybody.
SPEAKER_06That is true.
SPEAKER_00So you easily committed to a truck and been like, alright, well, I'm gonna I'm gonna tell the people I'm gonna buy it, and I'll tell everyone else later. And then, you know.
SPEAKER_06No, no, I wouldn't do that. Okay. I feel like a car is like serious. It's like buying a house.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Anyway, second guess is you have a third horse that you're leasing.
SPEAKER_04No.
SPEAKER_00That was gonna be used for like that one thing.
SPEAKER_06Cutting?
SPEAKER_00Yes.
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_06Okay. I wish, but no.
SPEAKER_00And then other guess you have a boyfriend.
SPEAKER_06No.
SPEAKER_00I was overthree. Okay, go.
SPEAKER_06Okay. Well, now my confessions are like gonna suck compared to your guesses.
SPEAKER_00Well, you may have seen like they're gonna be insane.
SPEAKER_06Well, I mean, they have kind of been weighing heavy on my heart.
SPEAKER_00Alright, get into it. Let's hear it.
SPEAKER_06Number one, I'm back on monsters.
SPEAKER_00Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_06I know, I know. Why?
SPEAKER_00Why?
SPEAKER_06I don't know. I'm just like really not that strong.
SPEAKER_00Um okay, we'll we'll get to the we'll go back to it, okay? What's the second one?
SPEAKER_06My second confession, which I think Shannon knows about. I don't think Michael knows about it yet. And honestly, I'm not sure which one he will get more mad at.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_06I bought some shoes.
SPEAKER_00Okay, now we're talking. Now we're talking. Like, give me a price tag.
SPEAKER_05Like five.
SPEAKER_00Hundred?
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_00What I just honestly, that's one thing I do not understand is the insane expensive shoes that you guys love. Like they're not that cool. No offense.
SPEAKER_06No, it's not about that they're cool, it's about that they're gorgeous.
SPEAKER_00Okay, whatever. But start with the monsters. Um you're weak. You're weak.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, no, I'm just like, yeah, I yeah.
SPEAKER_00So what was like the give me the internal justification? You know, you were like, well, you were trying really hard, you're like, I'm not gonna do this, I know this is bad for me. Then what happened?
SPEAKER_06I was like a solid like five days sober from monsters. And then I relapsed.
SPEAKER_00So what happened? Tell me what happened.
SPEAKER_06So, well, okay, I was babysitting Rachel's kids, and well, she was obviously out of town, and Isla has tutor early in the morning, and I opened the fridge to make her lunch, and it was like what's that one story from the Bible where like the water appeared out of nowhere?
SPEAKER_01Like, I don't know what you're talking about.
SPEAKER_06Honestly, I'm maybe that's not a story.
SPEAKER_00Uh Jesus turned water into wine. I don't know what story you're talking about.
SPEAKER_06No, I s I swear they're like in the desert.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_06And then like all of a sudden there's water.
SPEAKER_00I'm not very good at my Bible stories, if I'll be honest.
SPEAKER_06I'm not either. Maybe Shannon will know. Anyway. Um, and it's like it appeared out of nowhere. Like I didn't buy it, and it was just sitting there front and center. It was not I swear it was not there the day before. I did not see it. And it was like 7:30 in the morning, and it was like it was a sign from God. I'm not kidding.
SPEAKER_00A sign from God or a temptation for me.
SPEAKER_06When I opened up the fridge, and like it's because it now it's like it's like fall, so it's like kind of darker earlier in the morning. It was like 7:15. So it's like a little darker. I opened the fridge, the fridge lights flick on, and it was like, huh. The white monster sitting right there.
SPEAKER_00Ice cold monster literally starts hovering and is rotating and speaking to you.
SPEAKER_06And I was like, ah.
SPEAKER_00Wow.
SPEAKER_06And I grabbed it and I drank it, and I was like, you know what?
SPEAKER_00Did you did you feel better after you drank it?
SPEAKER_06Honestly, I did.
SPEAKER_00I mean, yeah, your body has been craving it.
SPEAKER_06And this is the thing. Like, not that I'm trying to sit here and justifying it, but I will sit here and justify it. Um, I could be doing way worse things.
SPEAKER_01True.
SPEAKER_06So it's like and I don't, I don't even drink the full thing. I sip on it for like it, I'll have like the one can of monster. It it could last me for four hours, and I just like to sip on it. So it's not like I'm chugging it. I just like to have like a little sip. Just a little sip. It's okay.
SPEAKER_00You just have a little bit, you know.
SPEAKER_06But you know what? No, it's like I could be doing way worse things. It's like I could be a real addict. I could be a vapor. Everybody vapes. Everybody now is smoking cigarettes. It's like I should be able to have a monster, okay?
SPEAKER_00That's true. Just kidding. I don't agree with any of this. Um, I was just pretending to be nice. No, come on. It's a freaky monster. And they are pretty bad. Like, you're there's lots of I heard about someone else this week, or like someone they knew had a heart attack at the age of 29.
unknownOh!
SPEAKER_06That's a year older than me.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Like the age of heart attacks is coming down significantly because of these things.
SPEAKER_06How many monsters does he have a day?
SPEAKER_00I don't know. You know what's crazy?
SPEAKER_06Because I don't even have one.
SPEAKER_00There was this guy that I knew. Uh, this was like, I don't know, probably 10 years ago. It was like one of my jobs I had in between, like in the summers, I can't remember anyway. And it was a desk job though, and uh this guy would drink like four or five monsters a day, and then he would stack the cans on his desk, and he had just like these massive walls of monster cans. I was like, bro, how are you alive?
SPEAKER_06So I I could even be worse. I don't even have one a day. And okay, and this is the other thing. I I save them for special occasions. So, like last week, okay, the first the first relapse. Actually, no, it kind of was a special occasion because it was like 7 30 in the morning. I was tired and I have to take care of three kids.
SPEAKER_00A special occasion because you had to wake up at 7.30. Yes, it was a special occasion. You needed that.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, it was, and I did not sleep the night before because I was terrified that somebody was gonna come break in and like rob us.
SPEAKER_00Why?
SPEAKER_06Because they because they know Rachel's out of town. It really scares me.
SPEAKER_00Well, yeah, maybe you shouldn't put that out there too much. But it's like they have a free insecurity system. There's also other things in the house that would help protect you. But you know, yeah, you'd be alright.
SPEAKER_06Anyway, so but then because I watched her kids for like four or five days, I think. So it's like I had one on the second day, and then I didn't have any day two or three, but then day four, there was like a little something happening, and I so then I had a monster. So it's not like I'm drinking one every day. I have one maybe two to three times a week, which I feel like is pretty good.
SPEAKER_00Maybe what we do is make a plan. So this next week you can have two. Then the next week after that, maybe you have like one and a half, then the week after that, maybe you have one, and it's fully taper off.
SPEAKER_06See Yeah, it it's hard when I go cold turkey. Cold turkey stuff. It's like it it never works, and like I don't have that great of willpower, so yeah.
SPEAKER_00Honestly, I had a very similar situation this week, too. I was determined to stop drinking Diet Coke. It's just for some reason I I'm going waves. I go in waves where I don't drink any, and then I drink the ton. And uh, you know what I mean? I'm not I'm not like uh I'm like an all-in or all out type of person.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And so we uh my goal though was once we moved into the house was to stop drinking it. Just because like I've been drinking, I've been going to so many restaurants recently. It's like I wanted to be at home, stop drinking, the dye coke, and so I stopped the whole week. And then it was I think Wednesday or Thursday, and I haven't had me the whole time, it's been so good. And then I'm sitting at my desk working, and one of my colleagues brings me one. And I was like a sign from God. No, I was like, and I just ordered tacos for lunch. Oh and Mexican and Diet Coke.
SPEAKER_06Mexican and Diet Coke.
SPEAKER_00It's like the perfect combo.
SPEAKER_06I was gonna say yin and yang, but I don't know if that's like what it what is it like? It's like peanut butter jelly.
SPEAKER_00It's like this goes together perfectly.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, it's just the perfect combo.
SPEAKER_00And so I was like, well, it's on my desk, it's cold, my food's right here, I gotta drink it.
SPEAKER_05You have to.
SPEAKER_00So I did. And then that lets, but then I can drink any the next day, and then today I'm with Megan. Megan also claims she was quitting, and she wasn't gonna drink anymore. No, and then I she never will. I come back.
SPEAKER_06She only quits when she's pregnant.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and then I well, that's why she wants to quit, because she wants to get pregnant, and so like anyway. So then we come back, or I come back uh from work yesterday, and there's the sonic that she's using as her um like the thing to hold up her phone, and so I was like, Oh, so you had been drinking it this whole week.
SPEAKER_06So yeah, no, I was I was on FaceTime with her, and she was like, Wait, hold on one second, I'm ordering. And she's like, Hi, can I get a large diet coke with a small water? I love that she ordered a small water, yeah. And a large diet coke, because like balance and everything.
SPEAKER_01Yep.
SPEAKER_06And then she was like, and then can I get the chicken nuggets or whatever? And I was like, Where are you? I'm thinking she was at like Chick-fil-A, yeah. She's like, Oh, I'm at Sonic. I was like, No, you get the chicken at Sonic, and she was like, Well, Weston likes it.
SPEAKER_00Weston loves it. Sonic? Underrated. I it sounds like garbage because in Utah there's not many Sonics. But first off, why I love it. The Diet Cokes are $10 like a freaking swig.
SPEAKER_06So Okay, first of all, this was free. Okay, yeah, because you because I had a fundraiser card.
SPEAKER_00Okay, great. Someone paid for the fundraiser card.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, not me.
SPEAKER_00Exactly. Um, anyway, when do you ever pay for your own Diet Coke in the first place? So shut up. They're all free to you. But anyway, so Sonic, way cheaper, can get the boys' drinks, Megan's drinks, and it's like less than five dollars. Reasonable. Reasonable. I still hate it, but reasonable. And then they get some chicken ice, that's fine. And Weston loves chicken nuggets. Go to freaking swig, that's 15 bucks right there. It's so annoying.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I will say Swig's gotta come down on their prices a little bit.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Wait, what was the second confession? The shoes.
SPEAKER_06Oh, I bought a pair of shoes. No, but hold on. Speaking of Sonic, okay, I have a little tangent story to go on.
SPEAKER_01All right.
SPEAKER_06When I was in high school, um, I all three years I took Foods 1, 2, and 3. And I think it was my junior year. So I was in Foods 2. And hi, sweetie. Um, okay, sorry, Shannon just walked in and I got nervous that she was gonna get mad at me for telling this story.
SPEAKER_00All right, we'll come back. Pause on this story. She'll hear it. Not now, but at least when she'll have in her as she's watching it and you're not there.
SPEAKER_06No, it no, it's actually not bad. So I'm in Foods 2. It's like the first day you get sat at the tables, whatever. I'm like talking to this guy, we become friends, and he's telling me that this was like a few months into the semester, and he's like, Yeah, I just got fired from my job. And I was like, Oh my gosh, like, why did you get fired from your job? What happened? And he was like, Well, they found out I was uh selling weed. And I was like, What are you talking about? Like, I was so innocent, I had no idea. And I was like, What do you mean you were selling weed? Like, where do you even get that? Like, you can't do that. And he was like, Yeah, I used to work at Sonic, and my customers would come through the drive-thru and I would just like put their little weed. I don't know, like I don't know if it was like a joint or if it was, I don't even really know what weed is. But and he was like, he was like, Yeah, they found out and they fired me. And I was like, wait, like, how did you not go to jail? Like, weed is illegal. I'm so confused. That's actually a wild story, but and then like a few weeks later, somebody at Corner Canyon put off like a weed bomb in the vents and it smelled like weed, and the foods teacher was like, so-and-so, like, did you do it? And he was like, he was like, No, why would I do it? He's like, if I was gonna do it, I wouldn't still be here. And then like the principal came in and brought him out, and they were like questioning him. Poor kid. I don't know. I I was like, oh my gosh, leave this poor kid alone.
SPEAKER_00Well, the dude was selling freaking weed at Sonic. Of course, he's gonna be the first person they ask.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, but he he's so nice, and we were like great foods partners. We made grilled cheese and we made like little cake in the mugs.
SPEAKER_00Yes, people that smoke weed aren't mean or bad people. Like, they can still be nice.
SPEAKER_06I'm just like, if he was gonna set off a weed bomb, he's not gonna like be sitting in foods too class. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Could have planned really well. We're like, you know, we had it maybe hire someone else to go do it for him. It's kind of funny.
SPEAKER_06Shannon just walked in here and said, What are you talking about?
SPEAKER_00Alright, back to your second confession. We'll move on from the drug dealer basketball.
SPEAKER_06Um, he was really nice.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_06We were friends.
SPEAKER_00Shockingly, they're they're nice people too. You know?
SPEAKER_06Well, I mean, have you ever seen Euphoria?
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_06They all the TV shows and movies make the drug dealers uh like these like really scary, like oh yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01I gotcha.
SPEAKER_06Like criminals. Yeah. I mean, I guess they kind of are criminals.
SPEAKER_00Anyway, next slide, please. Like this is insane. Um the shoes. Your shoes. $500 shoes. What are they?
SPEAKER_06I'll give you one guess.
SPEAKER_00We'll do what topics.
SPEAKER_06I think yeah.
SPEAKER_00I I like truly, I don't get it. Okay, if you were to sell me on why I should buy a pair of those stupid shoes instead of buying five other pairs of shoes I think are cooler. Tell me why I should buy. Max.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, but they're fall shoes, so I could wear them all fall and all winter.
SPEAKER_00But you don't wear the same shoes to church every Sunday.
SPEAKER_06No, you rotate them.
SPEAKER_00Exactly my point. So you'll spend a thousand bucks on some shoes.
SPEAKER_06Okay, first of all, they were not a thousand dollars.
SPEAKER_00I know you're rounding down. They were not 500 or 600 bucks. They weren't more than that.
SPEAKER_06Okay, they were like 650.
SPEAKER_00Okay. And that means they were 700.
SPEAKER_05Whatever.
SPEAKER_00No, I'm right. I actually have never heard of a pair of blue batons for five or six hundred bucks. I know they're a thousand dollars.
SPEAKER_06They're not, okay, it was seven hundred dollars. They're not a thousand dollars. If I would have bought like boots, maybe.
SPEAKER_00Okay. But yeah, I I still struggling to understand that one. People will say, oh, it's because you're broke, you don't get it. But maybe that's the case. Still, I think it's stupid.
SPEAKER_06And that's fine.
SPEAKER_00They're not that cool.
SPEAKER_06It's not that they're cool. I don't care.
SPEAKER_00They're not that cool. Like, okay, when I say cool, I'm not that I'm not gonna say my shoes are ever gorgeous. You you know what I mean? I'm not gonna say though.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Do you think I'm looking at my shoes and say, oh, I love these? These are gorgeous. No, with the freak. I say they're cool.
SPEAKER_06I don't know. Yeah, they're just so beautiful, and they are s I just I love a Loubuton. I am such a sucker for a Louis T. Sue me.
SPEAKER_00That also reminds me of this freaking song you got my boys loving.
SPEAKER_06Oh yeah, they love Sue Me.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I hate that. Dean West and Dean. Play Sue Me, play Sue Me. It's the most freaking chit song ever.
SPEAKER_06No, it's just like it's just like a fun like car song.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, they love it. They love it. They spent too much time with their little auntie this this summer.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Alright. Anyway, anything else? Those are two good confessions. What was the first one? I guess. Oh, the monster. Yeah, I was not surprised by either of those confessions.
SPEAKER_06Um yeah, I could have used a monster this week, and I didn't. I I didn't even use it as like a crutch.
SPEAKER_00Good. So what else? Anything anything else going on?
SPEAKER_06Um you know, it started off good my week, and then it kind of slowly got worse and worse. On Thursday. On Thursday, I was going to a horse lesson. And so I put Doc and Fabby in the trailer. I have Drew's truck, whatever. We like go through this construction zone. It's like uneven roads. This is personally what I think happened. Obviously, I'm not a hundred percent sure. I pull up to my lesson, I get out and I have windows on the trailer so that like you can see them, whatever. And I get out and I I like look up at them, and Doc has a massive gash on like right above his eye. And I was like, what the hell is that? So I like call my trainer over. I was like, Kelsey, come over here. She she's like, Ooh, that's not good. I think I think you need to take him to the vet. I think he needs stitches. And I was like, oh my hell. So then I had to turn around, take Doc to the vet. He had to get like 10 or 12 stitches. And I just Feel bad because, like, I mean, I know it's not my fault, but like I feel like it's my fault because I'm like, was I going like too fast over in like the construction zone? Like, I don't know, and now I'm just he was already like a little nervous of the trailer. Like, yeah, I had to have help getting him in, and now I'm terrified that he is going to be terrified of the trailer, like he's never gonna want to get back in it.
SPEAKER_00Did you walk through it and like see where he took cut himself in the trailer?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I mean, yeah, like at the vet, because the vet came out, she was looking at it, she was like feeling around, she was like, She's like, this happens all the time. Like, she was like, most of like the minor cuts that like aren't like life-threatening, she was like, they're from trailers. Yes, because horses are just horses. So, because I was like, Is this like normal? Like, what like did I do something wrong? Like, am I a bad horse owner? I'm like, literally, like they're gonna call CPS on me.
SPEAKER_00Oh my gosh, you're freaking.
SPEAKER_06And she was like, no, she was like, no, this is so normal. Like, don't, don't even worry. I think she could tell that I was like, because like I called Michael, yeah, and I was like sobbing. And I like tried to like compose myself because I didn't want to scare him, because I didn't want him to think because he knew that I was hauling both horses, uh-huh, and so I didn't want him to think that like something bad happened. Yeah, and so I was like, I was like, I'm trying really hard not to cry, but like Doc cut his eye open and he was like, Okay, like it's gonna be okay. Like, take him to the vet. And I was like, and well, so the guy that I bought Doc from, he's a vet, and so he was at the vet, he owns it, and so he comes walking in, and I was like, I swear I'm a good horse owner. Like, I swear, like, I'm so nice to Doc. I love him so much. Like, he was like, Yeah, you're fine, like Yeah. I was so stressed.
SPEAKER_00You all, you four sisters don't do well in those types of situations. No, the staying composed part does not hit pump very well. No, so I like imagine you were probably freaking losing it.
SPEAKER_06Well, and like in front of the vets, I was like trying to like keep it in. Because I I did I did have a freak out like in the car, like by myself.
SPEAKER_00The five but then like you did, what was your freak out?
SPEAKER_06Like I was just crying, and then I called Michael and then I called Shannon, and and like they kind of calmed me down. They were like, it's fine, like you're taking him to the vet, it's gonna be fine. Um and so then I got to the vet and I like tried to like compose myself, but I think they could tell that I was like very like stressed. And yeah, I mean they were really nice and they were like it it happens all the time.
SPEAKER_00Like so they had to put him to sleep to do that?
SPEAKER_06They didn't put him to sleep, they sedated him.
SPEAKER_00So just what does that mean?
SPEAKER_06So like okay, so like when they put a horse to sleep, they like have to like flip it like upside down.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, keep breathing, right? And they're they like well, not only that, but like they actually I don't know if that's why because what if he was this way, if you would hang down and like cut off the breathing in his heart.
SPEAKER_06Well, no, so when horse like when you put a horse to sleep, like when they're at the doctor, it's usually because they're having surgery. Yeah, and so they flip them upside down and they're being held up by their hoofs.
SPEAKER_00That's insane.
SPEAKER_06And so when they just sedate them, it just makes them like tired and like they take like a little nap, but like their brains, like he was like switching his tail, uh-huh, which means like he was like annoyed or like mad. And so it's like he was tired and he was sedated and he was all drugged out, but like he knew what was happening, like he was still standing, like he could still stand up, and then we waited like 20 minutes and then like he walked out himself. Where it's like if they would have like actually like put out put yes, then he would have we would have been there all day and all night.
unknownWow.
SPEAKER_06And actually a horse coming out of like anesthesia is very, very scary. Like they legit can kill themselves, and horses have because they like freak out.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean it makes sense. They're so confused on what the heck's going on.
SPEAKER_06And they like stand up, but they're like still drugged, and then that's like when they can hurt themselves, and anyway, it's just it's a nightmare.
SPEAKER_00Do you have horse insurance?
SPEAKER_06No, but I probably should.
SPEAKER_00Was this an expensive bill?
SPEAKER_06It actually was a lot cheaper. I I was fully prepared to pay like over a thousand dollars for these stitches. I was like, there's no way it's gonna be under a thousand dollars.
SPEAKER_00That's what I thought it was gonna be. How much was it?
SPEAKER_06It was $375 with stitches and then um prescription, like a prescription um like paste. Yeah, that no, not ointment. It's like it's almost like ibuprofen, but for horses.
SPEAKER_00Oh cool. Wow, that was way cheaper than I thought. I mean, it's not way cheaper, that's still a freaking chisel of money, but yeah. Interesting.
SPEAKER_06But no, because I I literally was calling Michael and I was like, I'm not gonna be able to afford it. And he was like, he was like, it's okay. If you need me to vend my you, I will. And then it was only like 375 or 400 or something with tax, and I was like, uh oh. I mean, thank the Lord it was only that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I wonder how much insurance, like health insurance for your horse would be pet insurance essentially, but I don't know if they do that for horses.
SPEAKER_06No, they do because actually my trainer was like, for how much you paid, you should probably get some insurance on him.
SPEAKER_00That's a monthly uh cost.
SPEAKER_06Michael, we gotta get we gotta get Doc on our insurance. Do we think that I don't even know who we have with insurance? Do we think I'll ask Da. Let's let's ask Daw if we can add Doc to the insurance.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I don't think that's how it works. It's not the same, they don't the same company that's an offer pet insurance.
SPEAKER_06It's a joke, you ding dong.
SPEAKER_00I'll just make sure.
SPEAKER_06I don't actually think that like United Healthcare is gonna add my horse to the insurance.
SPEAKER_00I was just making sure that you are serious. No one's funny of you to pull up to the emergency room and I'm like, help, my horse cut his eye open.
SPEAKER_06They're like, uh, ma'am.
SPEAKER_00Um alright, what else happened this week? Nothing else? Any other updates?
SPEAKER_04Um That's your character.
SPEAKER_00Nothing? Alright, alright. There's something else if you're talking, but you're just like uh holding that back.
SPEAKER_06No, I'm no, I'm just like genuinely that was like my big thing was that Doc cut his eye open. Yeah. And now I have to clean it morning and night, and it's he hates it. I feel so bad.
SPEAKER_00Well, my want to hear my No, it's not like best, but my crazy story from this week.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_00What's that my best moment? But you'll understand why.
SPEAKER_06Uh-oh. Did you have another Karen moment?
SPEAKER_00Karen moment? When did I when did I ever have a first Karen moment?
SPEAKER_06You can be a Karen.
SPEAKER_00What's a Karen? Like, how am I a Karen?
SPEAKER_06Like somebody who like yells at like somebody else.
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah, I can do that for sure. Oh, but it's usually for a reason. Oh no, my whole set is coming down.
SPEAKER_06Oh gosh. Like when you yelled at the at the breeze people, you were being a Karen.
SPEAKER_00Okay, I wasn't yelling at up. I never yelled at all. But they were also not.
SPEAKER_06You were talking very intensely, and I would have been so scared if I was that person.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I hadn't I had a moment like that this week.
SPEAKER_06What it what did you say? What did you say to them again?
SPEAKER_00No, that was no that no. That's a long story. What are you gonna ask to worry about the time? This one, I was seeing red. I was ready to freaking like I was so angry. So we all know the story of the neighbor behind us.
SPEAKER_06Uh, sweet, sweet Susie.
SPEAKER_00Freaking so this went. Um so we've I've asked her to slow down very nicely, and she kind of had this whole summer where we weren't really here because we were doing the um construction, and so I never really saw if she started to slow down or not, and she probably knew we weren't living there, so she didn't slow down. So one annoying thing she did was on this driveway, we have trees that line the side of the long driveway that we share, and she was concerned that our construction workers were gonna park on the driveway so she couldn't get through it. We had told our gent like our contractor, he was amazing at making sure no one ever parked, no one ever blocked it. Regardless, she put these massive no parking signs screwed onto the tree. There's like three of them lining the driveway. I'm like, okay, so thanks for just putting out.
SPEAKER_06Wait, have you have you taken them down yet?
SPEAKER_00I can't, they're technically on her property.
SPEAKER_06Oh.
SPEAKER_00So I have nothing, but there's this massive eyes sort of no parking signs, staring right at our house. It's like, alright, I that's fine, that's how it's gonna be. So then um, and we've only been nice to her. Like, we went and talked to her, we reached the family, like he came with us once.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I was there. And Susie and Susie and Steve.
SPEAKER_00Tony. Stupid Tony. Um, anyway, so we she so then we move in. And I was like, Alright, she knows we're here. She can see us. Please slow down. And she wasn't slowing down. She was still going fast. And so then I put like uh, you know, like those little slow down signs that have like look like the little kid that have like the flat, like the yellow. So I put one of those right out there, like next to the driveway, to really like send a message that she needed to slow down.
SPEAKER_05Right.
SPEAKER_00And the funny thing is though, we had talked about it earlier because she's like, oh, and also like the Amazon drivers that other people go down fast. And so I was like, oh, well, I'll do this, I'll put this sign there. And she's like, oh, that's a good idea. So I was like, yeah, I'm putting I'm not putting it for the Amazon drivers, I'm putting it for you, freaking Susie. And so anyway, I put that out there. I think that really bugged her, which is good. Her parking signs bugged me. So then I'm not seeing any progress on the slowing of speed. So I but she keeps texting me, like one time a branch fell down in the driveway. Technically that's her property, but I guess she was saying it was caused by my construction workers. So I said, fine, I'll cut it down. No words. So I took care of it. Then she texts me, oh, I'm having she's getting married, I'm having a wedding in November. Like, I want you to be ready for lots of traffic coming down the thing. I'm like, great, Susie. Stop freaking texting me and asking me to do things. And so I she sends this long text, right? So I send, I just sent like fine. I was like, I would really appreciate it if you could like really slow down for the kids. Like, um, I can't remember how I here. I'll read the exact text just to make sure we uttered.
SPEAKER_06Oh, pulling out the receipts. I love it.
SPEAKER_00So it ended on a good uh let me see this. Ended on a good like notes with her. So this is what I said. Oh, what she said this is massive on text. And I said, one one thing. I still see a lot of speeding going down the driveway. Can you please slow down for the sake of my kids? I'm not the only one in the neighborhood that feels this way. Like, I've talked to multiple neighbors. They all say how she speeds everywhere.
SPEAKER_06It's like freaking Like, how fast do you think she's going?
SPEAKER_00Like 50 miles an hour.
SPEAKER_06Oh, whoa.
SPEAKER_00On her driveway next to our house.
SPEAKER_05It's like Yeah, that's ridiculous.
SPEAKER_00You're 75 years old. Grow up and slow down. Like, what is happening?
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So then anyway, uh she said, I said, I'm not the only one that read it this way. I will be the easiest and nicest neighbor if you can just please slow down. When you put my kids and family in danger of speeding down the driveway, that's tough for us just to overlook. We have literally installed a six-foot fence solely because the day came within two feet of hitting my kid when he was just running to our driveway. That's all I will ever ask of you. We really would really appreciate it. Thank you. So, like, it was very direct, but I wasn't like me. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_05Right.
SPEAKER_00She said, Yeah, she said, I understand, I'm sorry that you felt concerned about your kid's safety. I still would never want anything to happen to them. I will absolutely be more mindful so now when driving down the driveway. I appreciate you letting me know. I hope we can put this behind us and can you be good neighbors? I said, sounds great, thank you. We appreciate it. Like that was it. So this is this is where the bad story happens.
SPEAKER_04Oh no.
SPEAKER_00Okay, you see, so entertained. Um so then Sunday, last Sunday, we're sitting, or no, I'm sitting not sitting, but we're outside with the boys, and we're like walking back and forth between like our little detached garage and the house because we're playing, they're playing with toys, I'm also moving stuff around because we're still moving in. And uh then all of a sudden I see like this Range Rover come slowly down the driveway, and it's clearly like they're looking at us, and then they go down to the end, they flip around and come back. And I was like, oh, it's Sunday, like there's probably one of our members, one of the members from church that wants to come say hi to us since this was like our first weekend actually being in the house. He made me like to drink like cookies or something. Like that's a very typical thing, you know?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, for the Mormons, yeah.
SPEAKER_00So I thought that's what was happening, and so then I like kind of like waved at the car and I and like I kind of walked over there because they literally came and stopped at our like second little detached driveway and sat there, and I'm like, what's going on?
SPEAKER_06And right, so you walk over there.
SPEAKER_00Walk over there. This dude gets out of the car, and I'm like, oh hey, like, what's going on? Like, and he's like, Do you have you read your uh like like the documents of closing and like your property rights? And I was like, what are you telling me? What the heck?
SPEAKER_06Did he serve you papers?
SPEAKER_00No, let me finish the story.
SPEAKER_06Sorry, sorry.
SPEAKER_00Gosh dang. So then um you just text me. Talk about uh okay, okay. Hey, send back, sorry. Anyway, so I'm so he's like, have you read the papers? And I was like, what are you talking about? Like this was no, like literally said nothing else. Like straight to that. And I was like, I was like, I'm confused. Like, what what?
SPEAKER_06What the hell is happening with your camera?
SPEAKER_00What the heck? I'm just oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, I know why.
SPEAKER_06Oh, did it switch over to your phone?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So okay, that's fine, we're good. Um so then he comes out, says that, and I'm like, what, like, what? I was like, yes, I have read the documents. And he's like, so you understand his driveway's not yours. And I was like, yeah, I know. It's my neighbor behind us. He's like, so then why are you telling your neighbor, or why are you telling Susie how fast she can drive on her own driveway? And buddy, when that happened, when he said that, you know me.
SPEAKER_06I was Yeah, no, I would be terrified.
SPEAKER_00Pissed. Like, that was one, like it's when you say something about like Megan or the boys, I like the switch flips bad.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And I have it's not good because I don't have good self-control in those moments. So I was like, excuse me? And he's like, Yeah, like this is not your property. You can't be telling her how fast she can go. I was like, I said, what's going on here? Like, who are you? And he's like, I am her real estate agent, I'm the one that sold her that property, and I'm her trusted advisor.
SPEAKER_05I was like, Oh, she has a trusted advisor.
SPEAKER_00I was like, oh, give me a bread. And he's he, I was like, so like I was like, so what what's your point here? Why are you here? And he's like, Well, I just want to make sure you understand you can't be telling her how fast she can drive, and you should make take more responsible for your kid.
SPEAKER_06And I was like, Ooh, not a good thing to say.
SPEAKER_00I was like, are you kidding? I was like, do you know what happened? He's like, oh yeah, tell me the story. What happened? I'm pretty sure you and I like tell us tell him the story. And he's like, so yeah, it was remind me whose kid ran in front of the driveway, in front of whose car? Like it wasn't like he was standing there. And I was like, I was like, are you kidding me? I it's like, are you do you have kids? He's like, yeah, I have grandkids. I was like, okay, and like what he says, okay, congrats. But I was like, you're telling me the four-year-old can't just like run to his own driveway right here. We're the only ones down here, and like we have someone going 75 miles an hour down the freaking driveway, they can't slow down. Like that's an unreasonable thing to ask. He's like, Well, maybe she was running late for her hair appointment. And I was like, So I was like, so you're gonna put my kid's life in danger so she can make her hair appointment. And he's like, Oh, so don't twist my words, don't twist my words. I was like, bro, that's what you freaking just said.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And so it goes on, and then he's like, he kind of goes back to his car because he knew he was like, he's like, kept saying he's like, is this an act? Is this an act? I was like, and every time he said he was act, luckily he was on the other side of the fence, but like our fence he can see through. And every time he'd say that, I'd like to get closer and closer to the fence. I was like, what act are you talking about? Like, what do you what do you mean? Like, why are you saying that? And he's like, this is an act. I was like, what are you talking about? And so then he goes on and he like kind of goes back to his car because it's getting pretty heated, and he comes, then he comes back, he's like, I just want you to know I've been here for 37, 37 years, and I wanted to welcome you. I was like, who the F are you? I don't care who you are, you're the one that you're gonna welcome us to the city? And he's like, Oh yeah, he's like, oh yeah, yeah, that's exactly what I said. I was like, this guy's an idiot. He's like, I'm the very successful real estate agent in this area, blah, blah, blah, blah. He's like, I'm gonna make sure I tell your neighbors about this right next to you and stuff. I was like, great, I don't care. Like, tell whoever you want. And then I ended with some choice words.
SPEAKER_05What'd you say?
SPEAKER_00Um, I just told him to get that out of here and never come back. With some other words.
SPEAKER_06But like what what other words? Tell us.
SPEAKER_00Just similar words. Similar words. But which I was not proud of. I shouldn't have said that, but like when he was acting, it was just it was fine to have the conversation. Like, but I first off, who are you? And like, why are you here? You're the real estate agent. You have no power to do anything. Like, yeah, like what's going on?
SPEAKER_06I don't like I don't understand what he thought he was doing.
SPEAKER_00So, and that really made me mad because like clearly Susie'd like told him to come over.
SPEAKER_05Right.
SPEAKER_00And it's like, okay, you're gonna send this real estate agent to come talk to us. Um but regardless, it was insane.
SPEAKER_06It was like So did you text Susie after this little altercation?
SPEAKER_00Absolutely not. Like, because to be honest, after we had sent out one text, like I was done. Like, I wasn't gonna bother about it again. Because like, yeah, that's why we put in the massive fence because I don't trust her at all. Like, she's she's freaking weird if she's driving that fast in her own driveway, and she know we have kids, and you're still gonna do it. It's like, we'll like the bracket lead the boys out there by themselves either way. The fence is freaking six feet tall, there's gates everywhere, yeah, they can't get through it. Um, and we've warned, and like we'll continue to like harp on them to never go on the driveway. But it's just it's like we just moved here, we're in a great spot that's supposed to be super quiet, but then we're worried about our 75-year-old neighbor. Like, she's the danger that's to us, and like it's like yeah, it's just annoying. But I don't know.
SPEAKER_06I cannot believe that she had her real estate agent come and like try to like scare you or something. Like, I I still don't understand what he thought he was like gonna do.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I don't know. I like I'm wondering how the conversation went.
SPEAKER_06Like what like what was he wanting you to be like, you know what, you're right, she can go as fast. Tell her to go 80 miles an hour down this road. You're right. I was out of line. Like, what did he want you to say?
SPEAKER_00I don't know. And it's we it's just very weird that that's an unreasonable thing to ask. Like, as a neighbor, if I was speeding, if like, for example, if I was speeding in the neighborhood and someone came and approached me about that, I would be embarrassed because I'd be like, oh, no.
SPEAKER_06Mortified.
SPEAKER_00I'd be like, I'm sorry. Like, you're right. Like, my bad. I understand you have kids. I'm not trying to put anyone in danger. Like, that's my my fault for being irresponsible. That's how I would feel.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And like I'll be completely fine because I understand that a parent wants to protect their kids. That is completely normal. But like the fact that the person I share a driveway with is being acting like this and sends someone to come and like, I still don't understand, do something about it. But anyway.
SPEAKER_06Well, and like. This is the thing. The pedestrian always has the right of way, no matter what. So it's like, God forbid, she hits somebody. It's her fault.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_06Especially if she's speeding. It's like not only like is she putting somebody's life in danger, but then like she would be held liable.
SPEAKER_00That's what's I mean, it's like, it doesn't matter. It's her, she owns the property. Great. You can't do whatever you want on your property. You can't hit a kid with a car on your property.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, and be like, oh, well, it was on my property, so.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's like someone comes and jumps on your trampoline. If they get hurt, you're liable. It's not, yeah, like what I don't understand her the point here. Um anyway, so that was a a fun day. And it was like very I was just like, ugh, did I like make the wrong decision? Am I we did we not should I have moved here? Because I don't know, there's been things with this house that uh in a way kind of like made me doubt or feel bad because I feel like this one Megan was happy to move here and she got to do like her renovations, but in a way I kind of feel like I was like, we need to move here because the boys will have so much space, it's so much fun to play and everything. Yeah, so like I kind of feel responsible for us being here, which I mean I'm the one that moved had us move here in the first place, but so I was like, oh, so I make the wrong decisions, putting the family in a bad spot, you know. So it wasn't my my best day. I was not feeling too great, but you know, and stuff.
SPEAKER_06I think I think that's normal.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_06I mean, one time in high school, my friend was driving to our old house, and he was coming to pick me up, and our next door neighbor came out and yelled at him and was like, You need to slow the F down. Like, there's kids in this neighborhood, and scared him straight. Anytime he drove into the neighborhood, he was going 20 miles an hour.
SPEAKER_00Like, I don't understand why that is so insane to say I don't know.
SPEAKER_06And it and it's not like he was like, Well, this is a public road, I can do whatever I want. Like, he was he was so scared of my neighbor. Honestly, he didn't, he didn't, he was like, I can't come pick you up anymore. Because he was so scared to see my neighbor again.
SPEAKER_00I mean, I feel like, yeah, at least that my dad would have done too, but uh, which I think is good. Like, people don't understand. You go so you just like don't realize stuff actually going in a car, like and what it would do to somebody.
SPEAKER_06Well, and especially like a teenager, because like teenagers are dumb, they just got their license, they're on their phones, they're distracted, their music is loud. So it's like, okay, was he being like was the neighbor being a little psycho? Yes, but you know what? Was it annoying? Yeah, and my friend was like, I can't come pick you up anymore, but he slowed down, yeah. And now that it's like you like grow up and you get out of high school, and like he has nieces and nephews, I have nieces and nephews, like it's just like yeah, slow down. Like it's really not yeah, that and and it's not like you're saving hours, you save like a minute.
SPEAKER_00Not even, she's probably saving 10 seconds by speeding. It's not that long. Yeah, it's like what are we doing?
SPEAKER_05No, it's yeah, it's so stupid.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. It's like I was just thinking, like, this I bet they thought that because I'm like younger, you know, everyone else will think it was pretty old. They'll probably be like, oh yeah, we'll send him. He'll like put him in his place and make them feel nervous, and they'll stop bothering me.
SPEAKER_06I still don't like I still don't understand the real estate agent. Like, I I have a real estate agent. If I called her and was like, Karen, I need you to go yell at my neighbor. I think she would be like, what?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I'm so confused.
SPEAKER_06Like that is such a weird and the fact that he was like, and I'm her trusted advisor.
SPEAKER_00Like, bro.
SPEAKER_06Just like weird old people.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Well, that was the fun, fun drama of the week for me. Um other than that, I'm trying to think if there's anything else with me.
SPEAKER_05Well, how's the how's the house?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, honestly, likely Megan's the best, you know, and Megan is taking care of organizing everything. I mean, my job was to get everything in the house. I and I freaking, it was a lot.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, you're the heavy lifter.
SPEAKER_00So then she's a her job is to organize it. Which she's really good at. And uh, so it looks amazing. She makes it look really good. Uh the boys love it. Like the funny because Dean's favorite part, I would say, is just his desk. He loves his desk. He has been sitting there doing so much work. Like that clock that Megan did that uh the collaboration with. Like, yeah, people probably think like, oh, it was fake. No, he genuinely sits there. He'll sit there for like two hours doing that. Just wrap up.
SPEAKER_06The other it I think it was on Tuesday, I was FaceTiming Megan, and I could hear Dean like in the background like singing his ABCs. So Megan like kind of like tiptoed in there, and he was sitting at his desk and he was practicing his letters, like singing the ABCs while he was practicing his letters, and it was the cutest thing I had ever seen.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, he loves it, which is great, which is great, and he loves to draw. That's his two big things. Um yeah, but now the house is good. There's some little things we gotta like clean up or fix, you know, which is uh expected. But overall, love it. Megan, I think Megan likes it. What does Megan said to you without me knowing?
SPEAKER_06She likes it. She's just like, I'm so happy that I have like a kitchen.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I think it was good, and I think she likes it even more because she designed it, you know? Like it was that's like her kitchen.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, it's so pretty. I love it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Um, so I had a new little uh segment for us.
SPEAKER_05Ooh, yay.
SPEAKER_00This one is for us to do a little debating.
SPEAKER_05Oh, I love debating.
SPEAKER_00But it's called friendly court, so it's like not serious topics, but like, you know, we're gonna have our opinions on them.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, like small claims.
SPEAKER_00And so the first one, and very appropriate for what we're talking about right now. Does your husband get one ugly thing in the house? So, like a lot of times the husband really wants like a lazy boy so they can sit and watch, you know, football or something, or they have something that just doesn't fit the decor. For example, I might say why did you say it like that? A decor.
SPEAKER_05Decor.
SPEAKER_00I just I don't know. Anyway, listen, I would say the one thing at your parents' house is the massage chair.
SPEAKER_06Like yeah, that that is an eyesore.
SPEAKER_00That one is the most random thing, which it's fantastic.
SPEAKER_06So ugly. But but you know what? Michael really wanted it, so whatever.
SPEAKER_00Exactly. That's my whole point. It's like the husband gets one thing.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00Is it allowed?
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_00You think it's allowed, really? Like you're fine. Like, for example, if I were to go throw a lazy boy out there right now.
SPEAKER_06I mean, would I make fun of you and say how ugly it is and how yeah, but I think I'm just used to it because it's like Michael always like had something. There was always like something weird that we were like, yeah, it's weird, but he really wanted it, so like whatever.
SPEAKER_00I feel like you're the only one that would agree to that, out of your sisters. I don't think Megan would let me do that.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I don't know.
SPEAKER_00I just think like, for example, this is how it went in this house.
SPEAKER_06I don't know.
SPEAKER_00I had we've talked about this. I had zero say in this house of like what we did in the inside. Obviously, I pretty much want to picked it. Um, and that was kind of like remat. But and May did a great job, but she did not care about my opinion. She would like present the be like, oh, what do you think about this? And it was always just to like have me talk, and then she'd never care about it. But my thing was like the gym, the outs the garage outside where I got to pick what we did with that and made it into a gym. And she even complains about it because she thinks the mirrors are too small. We don't we need another mirror or whatever, you know what I mean? But that was my thing, yeah. But it's like clear out of the way, no one ever sees it. But if I wanted to put a recliner in the main room, she would not let me do it.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I just feel like there are certain there are like funny things that like everybody wants. Like Michael really wanted the massage chair, so we were like, fine, whatever. And like when Emily built her house and was designing her house, she did not want a sectional. Like, she was like, I'm over the sectional, everybody has a sectional. And Taylor was like, No, I want a sectional. And Emily didn't let him at first, and she I call them like her toy Barbie couches because they were the tiniest, most uncomfortable, like they truly were Barbie couches. She had them for maybe like a month or two, and then she sold them and bought the sectional. And Taylor loves his sectional.
SPEAKER_00I think there's a balance that like I've struggled with. With you all love the perfect look, but it's like it still needs to be livable. Like it's a pretty kids live there, like it should be fun, and like well, and that's what Taylor said.
SPEAKER_06Taylor's like, we have a big family, and your family is always here. My family comes over, and he's like, and when I come home and I want to watch a game, I don't want to sit on like some toy Barbie couch. He was like, I want to be comfortable. I and he's like really tall, so he's like, I want to be able to like sit back and like whatever. And then the other thing that he was like dead set on was he wanted, um, I don't even know what they're called. He wanted the split sink instead of like one big sink, yeah, it's the split, which I hate. Like anytime I do dishes at her house.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, why do you guys like the split sink?
SPEAKER_06I just I hate it. It's like because then it's like you can't put food down the other side, and then it's just so annoying. And then like if somebody puts food, then you have to like clean it out. It's just disgusting. It's like just do one big farm sink with a disposal. Like it I don't like the split sink. I actually despise it, and Emily despises it too. But Taylor was like so insistent on it because he likes it for some reason. I I still don't understand why he likes it, but whatever.
SPEAKER_00So like he should get a pick.
SPEAKER_06No, he really doesn't. I don't know. I just and I think it's because he had a split sink growing up, so maybe that's just what he's used to. But like we always had just like the one big sink.
SPEAKER_00It's such a preference. You guys and you guys are very set in your ways. You guys all do the same thing, you have all the same opinions. And that was one of the one thing with Megan. I was like, do what you you want, don't copy, don't copy everybody else. Like, what do you actually like? And so I think she did a little bit of both. Like, she did still match a little bit of the style from like Emily or Rachel's house in your mom's house.
SPEAKER_06Well, I also think that that's Megan's style. Like, I think she likes that.
SPEAKER_00I know I know, but it's like sometimes I just wanted to make sure she was doing what she wanted and not whatever else was. You know what I mean? Yeah. Because I get sometimes I'm not sure. Like, sometimes I'm like, do you actually like it? Or is it just because her sisters and your mom say it? And I feel like that goes for like all of you guys, you know, because you guys are all like your opinions are all pretty much the same on everything. And I'm like, and me, I'm my opinions are always opposite of everybody. Like, so I'm always like, Yeah, are you doing what you actually want versus what everyone she's telling you? But anyway, so she loves it though. She got everything she wanted, it looks great. But I got nothing. Nothing in this house. I'm not in the garage. That's my whole thing.
SPEAKER_06Well, everybody has like their room.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's true.
SPEAKER_06Like, I feel like every guy has like their room with like their weird stuff.
SPEAKER_00What is weird stuff? Weird stuff.
SPEAKER_06I don't know, like it's different for everybody. Like I don't even know.
SPEAKER_00What would you do?
SPEAKER_06Like Michael has all of his like books and his like weird knickknacks and his papers and his football and basketball jerseys.
SPEAKER_00That's your definition of weird stuff.
SPEAKER_04Well, yeah, because I don't I don't want that stuff.
SPEAKER_00Okay, next one. Um should you tell someone their homemade food is bad?
SPEAKER_06Like, how well do you know them? Like, is it family?
SPEAKER_00Let's say it's like a friend. Because a friend a family, you're just gonna say it. No. If it's a friend, you're not saying. No. But like it's a close friend. And they they make a dish multiple.
SPEAKER_06Did they ask me?
SPEAKER_00No, let's just say like they made this dish a couple times for events or like for like gatherings, and it's sleep garbage.
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_00You don't say anything.
SPEAKER_06Unless they are like, hey, what do you actually think of this? Like, tell me the honest truth.
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_06I'm not saying anything.
SPEAKER_01I would find a way.
SPEAKER_06Cause maybe they really like it, and maybe I just don't have the taste buds for it.
SPEAKER_00I would find a way to say something.
SPEAKER_06Cause like I'm sure there's stuff that I make that people don't like, but I like it, so shove it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but if you're bringing it for it or making it for other people, should they should they shove it? Because like you're making food for me to eat.
SPEAKER_06But you don't have to eat it. Like, just either don't like don't put it on your plate.
SPEAKER_00But what if that's like limited options? You're responsible for the salad. You're bringing a garbage salad. What am I supposed to do? Not eat it? Not eat anything?
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Uh, this is my problem. Yeah, I'm telling you straight up. I'm not gonna say it's I'm not gonna be mean, but I'm gonna be like, you should probably stop bringing this. Or maybe I'll say I'll be like, you could bring something else.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, if you're like in charge of like giving out the assignments, maybe give them like a different be like you can bring drinks.
SPEAKER_00You can bring the bread that you purchased from the song.
SPEAKER_06You can bring the ice. That's all that's what you can bring.
SPEAKER_00That's funny. Um all right, next one. Uh can you say we're on our way before leaving the house?
SPEAKER_06Oh yeah. This one I say I'm on my way like 30 minutes. I'm still in my bed and I'm like on my way.
SPEAKER_00Pisses me off so bad.
SPEAKER_06I'm like, no, I'm like five minutes away. I haven't even brushed my hair yet.
SPEAKER_00I hate that.
SPEAKER_03You used to always say I'm at the roundabout, and you would still be like in roundabout.
SPEAKER_04Okay, Shannon.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you're the worst. You're no, you all are the worst. All the worst talk now.
SPEAKER_04I don't know why. I don't know why she's talking.
SPEAKER_00Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_06Like, do you have do you have to do this right now?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00Um, you guys love to say you're on the way. The worst though is you all say you're on your way, and you share locations with everybody. Then you look at it and you're like, I can still see you are still at your house. 30 minutes later, I'm on my way. Still at the house. Like, do you think we're all idiots? We can't see your location?
SPEAKER_06No, because it's like I'm on the way to being on the way.
SPEAKER_00No, that is not acceptable. You cannot, you cannot do that.
SPEAKER_06Oh. Well, actually I can, because I can do whatever the hell I want, but yeah.
SPEAKER_00No, you I would appreciate if you would stop.
SPEAKER_06Because when do I ever text and tell you I'm on my way?
SPEAKER_00I'm just saying, like in general, for the sake of everyone else that you ever text, you need to stop. They I am their smoke set.
SPEAKER_04No.
SPEAKER_00Because it's kind of annoying. It's very annoying.
SPEAKER_04I don't know.
SPEAKER_00Alright, so that's the end of the debate. You're not really good. Okay. Last one. Does Oh yeah, this is a good one. Is telling your spouse a secret the same as keeping. So this is like the you know when someone says you can't tell anybody, but then you immediately immediately go home. It's kind of like similar for you guys. It's like you can't tell anybody, you all immediately get home and tell every one of your sisters. You know what I mean? It's like you get home and tell the husband. Is that the same as keeping the secret?
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Okay, let's turn let's flip this. Husband, like spouse keeping the secret, and then telling all the sisters keeping the secret. Is that keeping a secret? Both of them.
SPEAKER_06Wait, what? I didn't even understand that.
SPEAKER_00So I'm saying there's two options. Like we have to decide is it still keeping a secret with if like you tell your spouse? Is it still keeping the secret if you tell all your sisters?
SPEAKER_06Oh yeah. When somebody is like, oh my gosh, I have to tell you something, don't tell anybody. I've already told my sisters.
SPEAKER_00So that's acceptable. That is the same as keeping a secret.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_00How?
SPEAKER_06Well, because they don't really count.
SPEAKER_00But they tell everybody.
SPEAKER_06No, because we really only talk to each other. And if I tell my sisters, like, seriously, do not tell anybody, they won't. Okay, they won't tell anybody other than like Drew Taylor and you. Because this is the thing, like we all like need to tell somebody.
SPEAKER_00So this is my take. Um, if you tell your spouse, that's the same as keeping a secret. Like, I think that's complete. Like if someone says don't tell anybody that's you go home and tell, like, I don't have to come back and tell me again, like that's the same. But if they say, if I get home and go tell everybody in the family, like you tell everyone in the sisters, like, I don't think that's keeping a secret.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_00You can't just say, okay, like the whole point is the debate, and all you're saying is, okay.
SPEAKER_06Well, this is the thing. That's your opinion. My opinion is different. And if somebody tells me a secret, just know I will be telling my sisters.
SPEAKER_00And you're telling me you all don't go tell other people. Because that is freaking lies.
SPEAKER_06No, if we say you cannot tell anybody this, like it stays within the inner circle. We don't tell anybody else. It stays within the inner circle. But if you don't explicitly say don't tell anybody, then okay, yeah, maybe Emily will tell Aubrey. Rachel.
SPEAKER_00And it spreads like wildfire.
SPEAKER_06I don't know who Rachel would tell. She might tell Aubrey. Because no, but really, we don't, we just like, we don't talk to anybody.
SPEAKER_00But it's like you guys tell sorry, one second. You guys tell one person, and then that one person tells everybody else. Spreads like wildfire. I would disagree. I would disagree. So good debate. Good debate. You did not convince me. Um, alright. I I like that segment. I'll do that one again.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_00But Cypher, you can't just say, okay. Okay. Because that's kind of defeats the point of the segment.
SPEAKER_06Well, you're not gonna change my mind. I'm not gonna change your mind.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so then we should not do that segment yet. If you're gonna have to be like not willing to try and convince it.
SPEAKER_06Well, no, I I I stated my case. I said why I'm telling my sisters.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Sounds good. Sure. Alright, um, well, what else is next? We have judge and jury. And the football game's coming out soon. And I hope those cougars lose today.
SPEAKER_06Kate, you're so rude. Who are they playing?
SPEAKER_00Colorado State.
SPEAKER_06Oh yeah, Michael's at the game.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I guess. Um. And you guys are coming very soon. And we're going to the game today.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, in like two weeks, are you ready? Are you ready for us?
SPEAKER_00We got a room set up. For repairs. I gotta put together everything. Alright. Um the next the judge and jury, we have two people right in. And actually, the first one's not really judge and jury. They're both not really judge and jury, but we're gonna go with that.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_00Um actually, no, this one is. This one's a good one. I like this one.
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_00As it's the first part's not really judge and jury, the second part is. What would you say is the normal kiss count in Utah? We heard it's around 40 plus if you're under 25 and not married. Do you think that's true? And why are men there kinda douchey? And would you feel weird if your significant other had that amount? What would you say? You're closer to the scene than me. Is 40 plus?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, so this is the thing. It depends. Are you counting every single kiss you've ever done in your life?
SPEAKER_00No, no, 40 separate people.
SPEAKER_06No, I know, but like Yes.
SPEAKER_00Yes, every your whole life, 40 people, you've kissed 40 different people.
SPEAKER_06Because like I personally don't count, like, like in high school, when you turned 16, you would get 16 birthday kisses. Yeah, that's a good thing. I don't count those.
SPEAKER_00That's yeah, wild tradition you all have. Like, what was going on at your high school? That was weird. Megan like told me about that.
SPEAKER_05It was that was so epic weird.
SPEAKER_00The fact that someone is like kind of like show up and like force the girl to kiss 16 guys, nuts.
SPEAKER_06No, and you would be you sometimes you would be like blindfolded, so you wouldn't know who you're kissing.
SPEAKER_00Please tell me this tradition to stop. Like, what is happening?
SPEAKER_06And it was ours would always either be in the Corner Canyon parking lot or it would be in a fresh parking lot.
SPEAKER_00Like, there's so many things I hate about this. Like, if my daughter got blindfolded to go get freaking kissed by 60 guys, I would be seeing red again. But anyway, keep going.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. So, like, I don't count birthday kisses because it's just like a Okay, don't count those. I I only and like I mean, I wasn't a slut at Pepperwood, but like so many people kiss like hundreds of people in one Pepperwood night.
SPEAKER_00Pepperwood? People don't count. Supposedly some big party that happens down there. I actually heard about it when I was in high school, but it's a big party that's a place called Pepperwood, it's a neighborhood in Sandy. And uh anyway, so that's what you talk about when you say Pepperwood, but continue.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, it's like, okay, so what it is, technically it's for like the graduating seniors. Yeah. But then it turned into like everybody goes to Pepperwood Party. It's kind of like the school year ended, now it's like moving on to summer, and all the parents in Pepperwood put it on. There's they do like carnival, like there's just like so much to do.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, to go.
SPEAKER_06And you literally just walk around and you make out with people.
SPEAKER_00What the hell?
SPEAKER_06Like parents are I never did, but yeah, there are parents everywhere, like they're like the chaperones, so it's like these parents are just watching when you explain it, it's like really creepy. That's what I'm saying. It sounds like they're just like watching, like these kids just like make out with everyone, and then they're like, okay, let's go ride the mechanical bowl. And then like you go ride the mechanical bowl, and then you go in the photo booth, and like there's like food and snacks and ice cream, like it's on it, it's honestly like a carnival, but that's what it is.
SPEAKER_00It's these parents make putting on a massive party so all these little horny high school kids can come make out with each other. So weird.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, it it is kind of weird, but that's what Pepperwood is. And I feel like Utah is like, especially like the Draper Sandy area, it's like infamous almost. Like the amount of people that were have been like who are out of state are like, oh, you went to Corner Canyon, did you go to Pepperwood?
SPEAKER_00And I'm like, it is like a well-known party.
SPEAKER_06But I never I I always thought it was kind of weird and like gross because it's like you literally like just saw a guy make out with some girl and then he comes over to you and wants to make out. I just like I couldn't get past like the spit. Um I just felt I just felt like it was I was just I I don't know, it just grossed me out. So I never kissed anybody at Pepperwood.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_06But so back to the meat and potatoes of it all. It's like, are you counting the 500 people you're kissing at Pepperwood? Because if you are, then yes, it is normal to have over 40 people.
SPEAKER_00Let's not count those. Let's talk like I mean, yeah, I don't know how to define this, but like let's exclude the freaking weird kissing parties that were happening and just focus on the normal things.
SPEAKER_06Okay. Um I would say what what was it? It was 25 and under?
SPEAKER_0040 plus people to kiss.
SPEAKER_06I think that's crazy.
SPEAKER_00You think that's crazy?
SPEAKER_06I I think that's high. I do.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Cause like I'm 28 and I think I've kissed like maybe 20 people. And that's include like even like I'm even including like dances. Because like I I would count those because it's usually like somebody you have a crush on, and then you kiss them at the end of the night. So like I'm even counting that and Nick Miles.
SPEAKER_00I think I'm counting Nick Mouse in college, yes. Yeah, Nick Mouse, for those people who don't know, are very I don't know. I wonder if that's a thing in other places.
SPEAKER_06Nick's no, I don't think it is.
SPEAKER_00Non-committal make out.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. So it's kind of like a friends with benefits, but like you're just making out.
SPEAKER_00Very, very common.
SPEAKER_06Very common.
SPEAKER_00Yes. Yes. So honestly, my take, I don't think that's insane. I don't think it's that crazy.
SPEAKER_06I think that's pretty high.
SPEAKER_00You think so? So what if you found out your husband had kissed 40 plus people after you got or like after you got rational?
SPEAKER_06Well, I mean, kissing, it's like, okay, who cares? I would be like, dang, you kissed a lot of people.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_06But it's not like they're banging 50 people. Yeah. So it's like, okay.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's kind of my feelings as well. I would say the same thing. Like, I I think Megan's, she's kissed a fair amount of people, too. And uh I'm like, I don't really care. Like, whatever. Nothing else happened, so it's fine.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So I don't think that's a big deal. But I do think in Utah that is for 25 and under, I feel like that's like I feel like that's that's crazy.
SPEAKER_06That is not that's a lot of people.
SPEAKER_00But I feel like that's not crazy because that's like all of the college years. Like, you know what I mean? That's end of high school in college. Because technically, also a big thing is people don't start kissing until they're 16. And so you're starting a little later, but then it's like I play kind of has the opposite effect where then it kind of opens up blood games, and I feel like everyone just starts like having high school kissing parties like this one.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And so then everyone starts kissing a lot, and then in college, it's like, oh, the first time we're from parents, and so they start kissing a lot and doing all these nicknots. So I don't think it's that crazy because of the age that it is. But if you're still going crazy, in my opinion, and doing that after 25.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, it's like grow up. Yeah, I will say, I've maybe this was just I don't know if this was like a Utah thing or just like a Shannon, a Shannonism, but Shannon always told us don't kiss a little people a lot, kiss a lot of people a little.
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah, that's like a Utah thing too. You'd say that.
SPEAKER_06And so I feel like people, like especially in high school and like early college days, they were just like, Yeah, let's go make out. I don't know.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's true. So that's that's the answer to that one. I don't think it's a big deal at all if someone's kissed a lot of people. Because it's just kissing, like it's all yeah.
SPEAKER_06I don't I don't think it's a big deal, but like I think, yeah. No, I don't think it's a big deal.
SPEAKER_00No. Alright. Uh, next thing. This is not judge jury, so I guess it's kind of the end of Judge Jury right there. We have two more little like topics where what are your thoughts on dancing with stars? Did you watch it?
SPEAKER_06Um, I've seen all the clips on TikTok, like all the dances, but I didn't watch like the full episode.
SPEAKER_00And what did you think? Because I did not watch, and frankly, do not care.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Um this is the thing.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_06It's gonna be really hard for them to beat last season. Last season was elite. They had Alex Earl, they had Robert Irwin Irwine, Irwin, they had the rivalry between like Jen Afflack and Whitney Levitt. So, like, I don't know, I feel like last last season's cast was just like stacked.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_06And there's a lot of people on this season that I'm like, who are you?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. There's been a lot, I feel like that shows how a lot of uh I like there's been a lot, it's I feel like it's kind of like a new wave of interest.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, it's kind of like come back, yeah. Especially, especially because like Alex Earl was on it last year and she's like the it girl right now. And her, yeah, her season was just amazing. But like I am like I do love Fibula. I love Tyler C.
SPEAKER_00C from Bachelor?
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Um, I love Mora. Did you watch Traitors?
SPEAKER_00No. Oh. Mora, but she was on uh was she on Love Island?
SPEAKER_06She was on Love Island, yeah. Did you watch her season of Love Island? Her season of Love Island is so good. Yeah, I actually love that could possibly be the best season of Love Island.
SPEAKER_00I haven't watched Love Island in years, but that one was good.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, so she is on it and she's so funny. Her and Mark were on Traders together.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_06And they're partners, and she has like the thick Irish accent. Yeah, it's so funny. Yeah, I love her.
SPEAKER_00She was funny. Well, yeah, I don't know. I'm sure Megan's gonna be pulling me into doing some dance here soon.
SPEAKER_06Oh, for sure. I can't wait to see the recreation of the lifts again.
SPEAKER_00Right for me, because you, as we all know, that is my favorite thing to do.
SPEAKER_06Yep.
SPEAKER_00I feel like a lot of our fights last year maybe stemmed out of some of those.
SPEAKER_06Like we don't really fight about much, but when we uh Well, especially because Megan's a perfectionist, so she'd be like, Oh, my toe wasn't pointed hard enough. We have to do the whole thing all over again.
SPEAKER_00And you're like, Yeah, driving insane. And especially because we would always do it after the boys go to sleep, because it's like she doesn't want the boys to pop in, and the boys they have to be involved, you know, like they want to be around. And so then freaking 11:30 at night, I'm freaking tired, and then she's making me do 30 takes to get a stupid dance right? Like, I'm losing it. Losing it. I don't have that patience. So that's gonna come back, I'm sure.
SPEAKER_06I can't wait.
SPEAKER_00Um, well, oh, and then Megan said us one thing we have to talk about. I'm not aware of this. Are you aware of the Hyrox chick that pooped her pants during the race and then kept going and ended up winning?
SPEAKER_06I saw that. Didn't they like take it away from her or something?
SPEAKER_00Why? Because she took it a dump halfway through? Like what?
SPEAKER_06I swear, hold on. What is it called again?
SPEAKER_00Hyrox. I'm gonna look this up. That is wild. If they took it away because she literally unloaded while she was running, that is nuts.
SPEAKER_06Oh, they just they changed the rules, I think, is what it is.
SPEAKER_00You sh yourself, you can't win. Like, I'm so confused. Why is the rule that you're putting in to make it so she can't win? Oh, wow. Oh, is this on camera?
SPEAKER_06Like Yeah, you can like see it like going down her legs.
SPEAKER_00Oh no. Oh! Oh! Oh! What? What? No. I just feel like Oh my gosh, and it's like, oh! What the heck is wrong with her? This girl's a freaking psycho! That's disgusting. And it's like ten times worse because she's wearing like the tight whatever.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, she's wearing tiny shorts.
SPEAKER_00And then oh my gosh! That's just like a biohazard. Everyone's gonna be sick.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I that's why I'm like, can't you get like really sick from that, especially if she's like touching stuff and then like they touch stuff?
SPEAKER_00Like, it's just like this video is of her doing lunges, literally just shh in herself, and someone's right right behind her following doing lunges.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Like, could you imagine being the person behind her as you're like trying to compete and someone ahead of you is literally just destroying.
SPEAKER_04Oh, that is disgusting. No, I uh no.
SPEAKER_00But she won, like I have respect for her for winning. Because you hear about it in like marathons, and you also hear about it in like ultra marathons that people run for like the hundred miles.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_00But then you're like out and away from everybody, you're not all clumped up. That is craziness.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, so I think they changed the rules. I'm not sure what they changed about it, but that's what I'm seeing is that they changed the rules.
SPEAKER_00I'm just like, how is she so nonchalant? Like, I feel like this isn't a big thing.
SPEAKER_06Well, and then after she posted, after she won, her she captioned it like a win is a win. And like she wasn't sorry for it until and then she later deleted it because she was getting so much backlash. And then like a week or however many days later, she came out and was like, after reflecting, I realized that that was not a good decision. It's like, well, yeah. Yeah, I didn't realize I'm glad that you reflected on that.
SPEAKER_00I didn't realize how like compact these events were. Like, that's craziness.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_00She's literally just not just crot dusting the entire place. Like, she's literally sprinkling manure everywhere.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, it's disgusting.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I'd be I'd be angry if I was brought if I was like in the race too, because that would like affect me. Because I would be like, I'm not, what am I doing? What am I pushing so hard to be like close to this person because I'm trying to win too?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, to follow behind poop girl.
SPEAKER_00And she's literally gonna make me sick.
SPEAKER_06I'm gonna be in the hospital tonight because if I saw that, I would have to like pull over and throw up. No, that's like that's disgusting.
SPEAKER_00Could you imagine you're over you're not only like breathing deep, you're breathing deep and inhaling this shit air. That's nuts.
SPEAKER_06Well, and then like the particles are like in your nose and in your lungs. That's just gross.
SPEAKER_00We should interview her. See, here what she was thinking. That was nuts.
SPEAKER_06I think she I think she did do an interview.
SPEAKER_00That's crazy. I didn't, I was not aware. I was like, okay, I respect for her for pushing through. I was not aware that everyone else was just then doing um burpees in her dump.
SPEAKER_06In her shit, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Like, that's crazy. See, I was trying to swear, but you're over here.
SPEAKER_06Oh, sorry.
SPEAKER_00Wow. Brutal. Alright. Well, that is all I have for today. You got anything else? You can say no.
SPEAKER_06Oh, yeah, actually, no, I do have something.
SPEAKER_00Oh wow. Feel like you're angry at me.
SPEAKER_06No, no, not at you. Patrick Clancy and his new wife, Rachel.
SPEAKER_00He's already Yes. Oh wow. That's a quick recovery.
SPEAKER_06Um, they're doing they they did a 60-minute interview. It comes out tomorrow. I think this was the worst decision they could have made.
SPEAKER_01Why?
SPEAKER_06Because I've seen a couple clips from it, and she's like, I hope people know how good of a dad he he is. And I'm like, first of all, how the heck would we know if he's a good dad or not? We don't know him. And then the interviewer asks Patrick, like, do you feel like you failed them or do you feel like you did everything that you could? And he dead face looks into the the guy's eyes and he goes, At the time, I feel like I did everything I could with what I had. If your three kids died, and that's what you say, not yes, I failed my kids. I have three dead kids because I didn't take them with me to CBS, or because like so many, like he literally is like, I did everything I could with what I had. No, you didn't, because if you did everything you could, your kids would still be alive.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but it's like could he say that though? Because then would he be found like kind of guilty in that? You know what I mean? Like if he admitted to not if he That'd be like him admitting that he knew he shouldn't have done that. And he did it anyway, if he said that.
SPEAKER_06Well, I just feel like But I get what you're saying.
SPEAKER_00I get what you're saying.
SPEAKER_06Not comparing, not comparing the two whatsoever. But like, for example, when Doc cut his eye open, like I was like, I shouldn't, I shouldn't have gone. I should have had my trader come to me. I I should have pushed back because then I wouldn't, he wouldn't be on Starrest for two weeks, he wouldn't have had to have stitches. Like it, and so I'm sitting there for something so minor being like so many what-ifs. Like, if I would have taken a different route, if I would have left 10 minutes earlier, 10 minutes later, would he still have gotten this cut on his eye? So the fact that he lost his three children, and he can't say, Yes, I failed them. I should, I, I should have done more, or there's con there's constant, all he would have had to say is there's constant what ifs going through my mind. And yeah, like, what if I would have done XYZ differently? Like, yeah, I failed my kids. I don't think that's a bad thing to say, and I think that's a normal response for a parent who lost three children.
SPEAKER_00I 100% agree. I'm not saying you should not say that. I'm just saying, once again, I'm always like thinking of like why? Because he's I was wondering if he was like told by lawyers and people that you can't say.
SPEAKER_06I just, but for the public scrutiny he's getting even before the 60-minute interview, I mean for him not even to be like, yeah, I feel like I failed then because as a dad, you're supposed to not even as a dad, as a parent, you're supposed to protect your children, and I didn't. I feel like that's very normal.
SPEAKER_00And even the uh I mean marrying that fast, I feel like, is kind of wild in this like whole situation.
SPEAKER_06That's pretty well and there people think that he had an affair.
unknownI don't
SPEAKER_06So it's like the fact that and it's all over the internet. Like from day one of the trial, people are like, he was cheating on Lindsay, like, whatever. So the fact that she's in the interview, it's like just do the interview alone and like maybe try. I feel like they did it to try to shift public opinion.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_06And it just is backfiring on them. Like the like the couple clips that I've seen, I'm just like, ew. And she's like, I'm just a girl who met a a boy running in Central Park on a cold Saturday.
SPEAKER_01Interesting.
SPEAKER_06First of all, that's a direct quote. That's not even her own words. That's a direct quote from 51st dates.
SPEAKER_01Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_06Like word for word. That's fine. And it's like.
unknownIt's not 51st dates, Notting Hill.
SPEAKER_06Notting Hill. Wait, no, I thought it was 51st dates.
SPEAKER_0051st dates is handler in Hawaii. 51st dates is everything.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. No, okay, Shannon says it's Notting Hill. Whatever. It's a direct quote from a movie. And it's just like. Why are we talking about why are we talking about you? And when she's like, I'm just a girl, I now cannot say the saying, I'm just a girl, because it will now forever remind me of her. And she's using it like, yeah, I use it as an excuse. Like I curbed my tire. I'm just a girl. She's using it as an excuse of why she married or maybe possibly allegedly had an affair with somebody. She's like, I'm just a girl who met a boy running in Central Park on a cold Saturday morning. It's like, shut the f up. Like, why are you in this interview? Why are you here?
SPEAKER_00Uh what it reminds me of is have you watched on Netflix the pastor's wife? No. You should watch it. It's a pretty wild story, it's a very similar story. It's very sad because it's basically this pastor, he was married, has an affair with one of the this she was like 18, this girl, maybe 18. Yikes in his congregation. Ends up being like, we need to like turn this into a positive thing, and ends up marrying her. And then he like is like he's wild. Like he's like forcing her to do things like four times a day, if you know what I mean. Like making her try and then he's also like having affairs that let people in the complication, all this stuff. She like is very manipulated by him.
SPEAKER_05Um but he's what's wrong with people.
SPEAKER_00Anyway, very manipulated by him, and he's a terrible person, obviously. And she finally gets away, like because her family was very big and like trying to give away. And then anyway, she but he like won't stop leaving her leaving her alone, and like is following her, texting her, like insane stuff, puts trackers on her car, like all this stuff. And then eventually gets to the point where she just goes and ends her life. And he is saying it's because the family didn't get let her have her beds that she needed, and when reality, like everyone else saying it's because like you were pushing her to stalking her, pushing her to a point where like because the police couldn't do anything because they didn't have an official divorce yet, and so like because they're married, there's like all these weird things, like since you're married, they can't do anything. It's like it's which is kind of wild. Um anyway, it's kind of similar to like this guy pushes her to a point, and then she ends up doing that, and but like then he gets married like less than a couple months later to a girl that he was having an affair with in the congregation before.
SPEAKER_05Oh boy.
SPEAKER_00And anyways, but people are now trying to get him to be felt you know guilty, responsible for what happened to her. Crazy, but he's like still a pact a practicing practicing pastor in Florida as like congregational stuff. Pretty wild.
SPEAKER_05What the heck?
SPEAKER_00Wild. Anyway, um, crazy stories, sad stories. But uh yeah, it's kind of crazy they don't show much remorse in those situations.
SPEAKER_06I just when I saw that he wasn't like, of course I feel like I failed. Yeah, it's like what?
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Like, oh, well irked me. Oh, Shannon, yeah. What real what really irked you, Shannon?
SPEAKER_03Um he said she was like, Do you talk to your children?
SPEAKER_06Oh, yeah. And he said he says, I ask them for help.
SPEAKER_03He says, I tell them help me. Like that is a completely narc response. Like, what do you mean help me?
SPEAKER_06I would help you with what?
SPEAKER_03I'm so sorry that this happened to you. Our lives will never be the same.
SPEAKER_06I will never memory, I'll be empty, like I'll forever have like a hole without you guys. Like honor your memory. I asked them for to help me.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's weird.
SPEAKER_06It's his attitude says that he's disgusting. He is so he's completely unaware. He is so weird. I'm not saying he did it, I'm just saying he didn't even cry at their eulogy. He's got severe issues. When he was talking about his kids at their eulogy, he didn't even cry.
SPEAKER_00I just can't imagine. I I can even like that whole situation. I I hate these conversations because think about those kids. And then to not cry, like that's I just think something off.
SPEAKER_06I mean, call me a conspiracy theorist. I don't care. I just think something is so bizarre with it. Why have your kids cremated? He had them cremated, so now there can't be like a second autopsy. There they can't like go do an investigation. He sold the house, he sold first of all, he slept in the house the night of like three hours after.
SPEAKER_00Oh my conversations.
SPEAKER_06Is that not mind-blowing? If somebody died in your house, I would not be able to sleep there.
SPEAKER_00How would you even be able to sleep? Period. Anywhere. Anywhere. If that is happening to your family, how would you even be able to go to sleep three hours later? Or by yourself. Or like yeah.
SPEAKER_06Guess who guess who bought the house? Either the DA, I can't remember, mom, who bought his house? What? She's not talking. Either the DA bought his house, or um like the one of the detectives of the investigation bought his house in like a private sale.
SPEAKER_01That's weird.
SPEAKER_06I'm just telling you, there are so many weird things. And honestly, if I was him putting myself in his shoes, which I don't want to be in his shoes, but I'm going to be for one second.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_06Putting myself in his shoes, or his weirdo new wife's shoes, knowing public opinion, you want to know what I would have done going into that interview? I would have showed absolute remorse. And you want to know what I would have done? I would have freaking blamed it all in the police department because they sucked at their job, first of all. There was no investigation. And I would have been like, because she's like, I just don't understand how the story got so twisted. I would have been like, um, how about we go talk to the police officers and the investigators? Yeah. What did they do? Like, it's not my job to investigate a crime. The people whose job it was, I would have been like, they failed me, they failed my kids, they failed Lindsay. Like, I would have blamed it all on them. And I would have blamed the doctors.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I'm sorry, I was talking about I don't know all that what happened, but uh yeah. Shannon's providing. I we can't the mic's not gonna pick it up.
SPEAKER_03Shannon, we can't really hear you, so either come out here or don't talk because the mic's not you can you can say that I said I feel like where is his complete like wanting to hold someone accountable, the medical.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, and like get justice for his kids.
SPEAKER_00He's like re it feels like he's just ready to move on.
unknownI don't know.
SPEAKER_00Like he just goes.
SPEAKER_06He was re He was ready to move on like the three hours after the murders.
SPEAKER_03Also, maybe he's over medicated because he's not dealing with it. Well, so I mean we're not trying to really judge the guy, but he didn't judge him. No favors by doing that.
SPEAKER_06No, it's completely backfired on them and it hasn't even come out yet.
SPEAKER_03If anything, I'm like Yeah, I don't think he I honestly don't think he did it. I do think she did it. I I think he was just so checked out of the marriage and the family that I mean it's so weird. I agree with it.
SPEAKER_06Have you seen what he what he was asking Reddit at the m uh a month before the murders? If you mix this medication with this medication, what's the outcome? What happens if you take this and this?
SPEAKER_01But he was trying to do it. Yeah, I don't know.
SPEAKER_03Uh you know, I'm not gonna judge. And I wasn't on that jury, and I did not watch the whole trial, so I can't say it. I think there's something wrong with him. I don't know if he's socially unaware, obviously he is, or he's got some other issues going on.
SPEAKER_06But anyway, bottom line is he's a weirdo freak, and he married a weirdo freak, and just to girl him that boy running in Central Park. Shut up. No, you didn't. That's what what cold Saturday give us the date. I want the date.
SPEAKER_00Well, you are my source for this. I know nothing other than what you tell me, so I don't have an opinion. My opinion is why you're rolling your eyes, I don't follow this case.
SPEAKER_06No, I'm not I'm not rolling my eyes at you. I was just thinking of more stuff. Like he bought his apartment from her dad, yet they just so happened to me out of the millions and millions and millions apartments in New York City. He bought his apartment from her dad, and then they just like happened to me in on a cold Saturday in Central Park.
SPEAKER_00Interesting.
SPEAKER_06The whole thing is just so effed up. Like, honestly, they need to like move to like Puerto Rico or something. Like, they need to get out and like get out of the public eye because I can't stand those two.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Okay, well, that is our episode of Legally Friends. Uh Amy, will you suck us off?
SPEAKER_06Yeah. I just like my blood is like boiling right now.
