Welcome back to Legally Friends. I am here with my sister-in-law. I married her sister, Megan. And I'm Zach. First things first, what are the updates? Anything to you on your end? If you want, I can jump in first while you think.
SPEAKER_01I have some new stuff.
SPEAKER_02Oh.
SPEAKER_01And I've actually been texting you and Megan about it this this week.
SPEAKER_02Oh, wait. What?
SPEAKER_01I've been getting migraines.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah. I passed the disease over.
SPEAKER_01But it's weird. You pass the disease over. It's contagious, and you gave it to me. It's weird because so the first one, it's it's not that like my head starts hurting, it's my eyes.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. This is interesting.
SPEAKER_01And it's not that, it's not that my eyes are hurting, it's that I can't see. Like it starts out with like I'll see like a line. And it's like rainbow and it like kind of like waves like this.
SPEAKER_02And you like and then it you blink and it won't go away, right?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and it like start it like impairs your vision a little bit, and then it gets bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger until like you literally can't see. Like that's all you can see is like the rainbow shimmering light.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_01So that happened, and then I was scared. I was like, oh crap, I'm gonna get a migraine. So then I was scared that like my head was gonna start hurting really bad. So I was texting my friend, and he was like, You need to get this medicine. So then I had to door dash this medicine. Etc. For is like specifically for migraines. Um and I never got like an excruciating headache, and then so that was on Sunday, and then yesterday I was totally fine all day at Emily's at like I don't know, probably like five o'clock, five or six o'clock. All of a sudden, I see like this little tiny circle, and it looks like a sun, but it's like rainbowy, and it like kind of waves like this, and I was like, oh crap. And then like 20 minutes later, it like got bigger and it kept getting bigger and bigger, and so I just like had to go lay down and like I took like a two-hour nap at Emily's house, and then she brought me in and out and woke me up, and she was like, I brought you in and out, but my head never hurt.
SPEAKER_02Maybe they but did you take Excedrin before that?
SPEAKER_01No, she didn't have Excedrine at her house, so I just took Tylenol Extra Strength, and then I woke up and I ate the in and out, and I still kind of had it in my vision, but it wasn't as bad. It was like on the periphery, so I felt like it was like starting to go away. So that I was finally able to drive home at like 10 o'clock at night, but my head never hurt, which is so interesting to me because I'm like, wait, but the first time you did get a migraine. No.
SPEAKER_02Oh, you've just been getting the eye thing, but no migraine.
SPEAKER_01I get the eye thing, and then like, okay, so it's weird. Like, if I stand up too fast, I get like this really, really bad pressure on the top of my head, and it like it like radiates down my neck. But like when I'm just sitting here, my head doesn't hurt.
SPEAKER_00Hmm.
SPEAKER_01It's like if I move too fast or like on Sunday, I like laid down. And have you seen me lay down? I kind of like lay down like aggressively.
SPEAKER_02I mean, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Have you have you seen like when I like get into bed and I like slam my body down?
SPEAKER_02You just kind of like let everything go. Like, I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. And so like I did that and I was like, oh, that hurt my head. But then, like, if I was just like laying there, or like if I was just like gently rocking myself, it wasn't hurting.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I still the rocking still gets me. And the worst thing ever happened last night. I'm sitting in bed. We're at the hotel. I'll get that'll be in my update. We're in the hotel. Weston looks at me. We're trying to go to bed. Look, Dad, I can go to sleep like Mame. And starts rocking himself on the bed. I have never Did it help him go to bed? Absolutely not, but I've never been more disappointed in my child.
SPEAKER_01Uh he j it's because he misses me.
SPEAKER_02Something like that.
SPEAKER_01He misses me so much, and he knows that that's how I go to bed. Remember when Dean was a baby and he used to do that?
SPEAKER_02Dean never really did that. Okay.
SPEAKER_01He did it, he did it for like a week.
SPEAKER_02You tell yourself that just to make you feel like proud that like and make you feel like you're not alone, that you're the only not only the one.
SPEAKER_01Don't we have it? Don't we have it on the camera? No. On the baby monitor? We have like a recording and he's going like this.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, with his head. I think he maybe would do with his head every once in a while.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Anyway, so you're having migraine symptoms, but no migraines. Is that what I'm hearing?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and I was I was asking chat about it, and he was like, Yeah, it actually like that can happen. You just get like the visual.
SPEAKER_02Your chat's a guy. I always say she.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. My chat's a guy, but when I like text him, I'm always like, hey girl. Even though he's a guy.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_01And he's like, hey girl, what's up? How's Doc and Fabby? What's going on? That's that's always how he greets me. He's like, What can I help you with with Doc and Fabby? I'm like, actually, no, I've been having migraines. And he's like, Oh my gosh, I am so sorry. That is so awful.
SPEAKER_02And then what it and then what did he say?
SPEAKER_01He always has so much sympathy for me. Yeah, this exactly, but anyway, and he's like, he's like, the visual migraine thing like is normal. Like some people only get like the visual like impairedness. I don't even know if that's the right word. But he was like, but normally it starts out visual and then you play.
SPEAKER_02Like the beginning aura thing, and then it gets to headache. Yes, yes.
SPEAKER_01He kept calling it the the the migraine aura.
SPEAKER_02Mine happens, I'll get that, and you get the migraine, and then usually the next day I'm like in a like kind of low-key depressed. And that's like part of the whole aura thing. But yeah. The the vision thing sucks. I had that one time. It was I came, I went to my it's actually my where I work now, but it wasn't like an interview, but like flew some people out there to go like tour the office and meet people, and in a way it was kind of like an interview. And as I'm sitting there at lunch, all of a sudden I can just see it coming. And like it was right in a spot where I couldn't see someone's face. So whenever I look at someone's face, I couldn't see them because the the like a ball of like blurriness was right there. Oh yeah. That's the worst. My head hurts so bad.
SPEAKER_01But so do you always get do you always get like that visual aura thing, or do you just always have the headache migraine?
SPEAKER_02I mean my head always hurts. Sometimes I do get the like aura thing if it's gonna be like a super bad one.
SPEAKER_01Oh, so that's how you know it's gonna be bad is when you get the visual auras.
SPEAKER_02And then I'll try and take some medicine quick.
SPEAKER_01But what do you take Excedrin or do you have like prescription migraine medicine?
SPEAKER_02I have tried probably 20 different medicines. I was when it got started getting really bad about two years ago, I was taking like two Excedrin a day. And it just stopped working. And they say it actually can make it worse if you take too much Excedrin. Um I I use one right now called Nertech.
SPEAKER_01But and is that prescription or is that just over-the-counter?
SPEAKER_02Prescription. And they just to get to that, they make you try like five different drugs to even it's so annoying.
SPEAKER_01So I was just gonna say something. What was I gonna say?
SPEAKER_02Well, if that comes back.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay. Okay. And maybe this is like so off base.
SPEAKER_02Oh man.
SPEAKER_01I have an announcement that's tied in with the migraine thing. This is why this is personally why I think I'm having migraines. No, I wish. Um I stopped drinking monsters.
SPEAKER_02Oh, oh, that's good.
SPEAKER_01That's because so like a week ago, maybe it's like two weeks ago now.
SPEAKER_02Before you keep going, does that mean like all energy drinks or just specific monsters?
SPEAKER_01But you'll s I haven't I had a I haven't had an energy drink in two weeks. The the most caffeine I've had is diet coke.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, those will definitely give you withdrawal.
SPEAKER_01So I think I'm going through withdrawal because so I was drinking a monster and I felt like I started having heart palpitations, and it really scared me. And I was like, shoot, like, I can't, I can't drink these anymore. Like, I felt like my heart was like racing, and then it would go like really slow and it would be like boom, boom, and I felt like it was like pounding out of my chest. I like almost I thought I needed to go to the yard. I didn't, it was fine, but it it freaked me out. It kind of like you know how you kind of have to have like that like scary moment to like jolt you out of things because you're like, oh, that'll never happen to me. Yeah, whatever. No, it freaked me out, so I stopped drinking monsters. The only that's the only thing that changed in my life. Yeah, it's definitely what Charles that I stopped drinking monsters. I I think I'm having withdrawals because like I was an addict over here.
SPEAKER_02See, and I'm actually going the other way. I've started having like pre-workout just ingredients, and oddly, it has helped a lot with my head, which is kind of weird.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Because caffeine can actually help.
SPEAKER_01Well, I'm yes, and also just ingredients is a way better option than a mobster.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, true, true. But I mean, still a ton of caffeine.
SPEAKER_01Like, yeah. Like I wonder if um, like, because like just ingredients or like clean simple eats, they have like their energy drinks, but there's only like a hundred grams of milligrams, whatever it's called, of caffeine. Unlike a monster where it's like 210.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's so crazy.
SPEAKER_01And plus all the other like bleach chemicals that they put in the monsters. So I wonder like if I could do that because see, I've been dragging this.
SPEAKER_02Is why sometimes one of my biggest temptations, you want to know what it is? Coffee. Yeah, uh, so it's like, why can we have an energy drink? But I just want to drink a coffee, you know?
SPEAKER_01I know it's so much healthier for you. I don't know.
SPEAKER_02But I just do what I'm told. But not no, I know there's other reasons that I don't know about, but um, and that and that's not true. I don't just do what I'm told, people. I know everyone's gonna hate that. That is not true. Um, but that is when I'm tempted to be like, all right, would either have a pre-workout or have a coffee? But you know what? They do yeah, that's that's tough. But anyway.
SPEAKER_01But so what I was gonna say about the when I took the Excedrin, I kind of felt like I was having heart palpitations again. Like I felt like my heart was going weird. I was like, whoa.
SPEAKER_02And that scared you, scared you straight.
SPEAKER_01Well, it scared me because now I don't want to take Excedrin ever. Like again, because it I felt like my heart was going crazy.
SPEAKER_02From the exced wait, from the Excedrin. I missed that.
SPEAKER_01Yes. Uh no, when I took the Excedrin on Sunday, yeah, I felt like my heart was having palpitations again and it freaked me out.
SPEAKER_02Well, yeah, Excedrin's full of caffeine. No, I'm so it's I don't think you're having heart palputations, but you know, maybe go get it checked out if you feel like that.
SPEAKER_01Wait, sorry. Is it palpitations or palputations?
SPEAKER_02Truly, I have no idea.
SPEAKER_01I've been saying palpitations, but I've also been saying great vines for the last 28 years of my life, so we're not sure.
SPEAKER_02And you say phrases like if you're dumb, you gotta be tough, those type of things.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02Anyway.
SPEAKER_01And I I stand by that.
SPEAKER_02Well, I'm sorry to hear about the migraines. That sucks. Well, the aura thing. Um yeah. But if it doesn't go away, if it doesn't go away in the next couple weeks, you should probably get it checked out.
SPEAKER_01I know. Well, and chat was like, it's weird that it's like only in your vision. Like maybe you should go.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I would just give it like another week or two, just because it's probably withdrawals from the energy drinks. And if it doesn't go away, get an appointment.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I want to know if that's like a real thing.
SPEAKER_02What? Withdrawals?
SPEAKER_01Like, was I was I like that addicted to monster that I didn't even know that if I stopped just like cold turkey, I would be going through withdrawals and it can give you migraines.
SPEAKER_02No, people talk about it all the time. That's very common. That if you leave or if you stop drinking caffeine in general, a lot of people talk about it with like Diet Coke, and this has happened to me too. If you stop drinking it, it makes you like you have bad headaches for a while.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no, I'll never give up Diet Coke because Diet Coke is like my number one.
SPEAKER_02And you probably should.
SPEAKER_01It's like Diet Coke and then water.
SPEAKER_02No, I was actually talking to uh I think I can't remember I was talking to about this, and I was like, my in-laws drink so much Diet Coke. And I was like, I don't even when I stay at their house, I don't even know like drink water. No, I don't see them drinking water.
SPEAKER_01I hardly ever drink water. It's actually really bad. But the migraine thing since Sunday, I have been trying to drink way more water and way less Diet Coke because I'm like, is it also because I haven't been having monsters, so now I feel like I need more Diet Coke, so now I'm drinking more Diet Coke and now I'm drinking less water. I don't know.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I mean, I think it'll go away soon coming from Dr. Zach.
SPEAKER_01But yeah, I'm praying.
SPEAKER_02Any other updates? Any other thing else going on if after that 10-minute rant on migraines?
SPEAKER_01Um, oh, Shannon was not very happy with me after last week's episode.
SPEAKER_02I told you. I even texted you before, I mean, when I was editing it, I was like, should we leave this in? And you said yes. And I said, Okay, this is 100% on you. And Shannon just let you know, I tried to get that out, and she said, leave it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so we're sitting there on Sunday, and I was sitting in front of the fire, and all of a sudden I hear and I like shot up so quick. I was like, What? And she was like, You told everyone that I got a facelift, and I was like, Oh yeah. I knew and she was like, Well, why would you do that? She's like, You didn't even warn me. I'm like, Oh, I sorry, I didn't know I needed to warn you. Like, I just kind of thought it was like not a secret because everybody's gonna see that you look like 30 years younger. And then she was like, You really think I look 30 years younger? And I was like, Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Oh, so you got it? And she was like, You got her back with that.
SPEAKER_01Oh, thanks. Yeah. So like she wasn't mad, but she was like, it was the initial, like, that's funny.
SPEAKER_02I I knew that was gonna happen, but I guess you got her with the 30 years younger and made her feel better about it. So all good. Anything else?
SPEAKER_01Um, I asked Michael to give me a list of 10 reasons why I wouldn't be fit for war. Do you want me to read those off?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, there's only ten. Uh-huh. It could be about a hundred, but you know.
SPEAKER_01You're so he he said. He only did nine. I don't think he would be able to shoot anyone. You would question and ignore orders. There's no swig. Passenger princesses are not allowed in Abram's tank or F-35. I don't know what that is. No horses allowed. Wake up time is 5 a.m. Saying I can't wake up. True. No mental health days, because I always tell him, I'm like, I need a mental health day. I'm going to the barn.
SPEAKER_02Oh my gosh. So every day is a mental health day for you.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Um, Menti Bs are not allowed.
SPEAKER_02What's MCB?
SPEAKER_01And then Menti B, mental breakdowns.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I didn't know that was a thing. Okay.
SPEAKER_01It it's always like. When did I when was the last time I had like a Menti B? Oh, when I was hangry like a few days ago.
SPEAKER_00Oh.
SPEAKER_01I felt like we didn't have any food. And I really, really, really wanted um, you know the sourdough bread that we get delivered? I I was like craving a piece of sourdough toast, warm butter, honey. I wanted it. I go to get it, gone.
SPEAKER_02And that caused you to have a mental breakdown.
SPEAKER_01And I was raging. I was like, where is the sourdough? And he was like, oh, I ate it. And I was so upset. I was like, I just wanted a piece of sourdough toast. I'm starving. I was like, I haven't eaten all day. It's like three.
SPEAKER_02You guys are a bread family. You guys are 100% a bread family. You guys love bread.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I just like I I wanted bread and we didn't have any bread.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_01And he was like, he was like, go to the store. I'm like, I can't go to the store.
SPEAKER_02What is up with you guys and not being able to go to the store?
SPEAKER_01I hate going to the grocery store.
SPEAKER_02Drives me insane. I hate it just go to the store. But you know what? Actually, go back. I'm gonna take that back. Megan, I will go to the store forever. Just because, you know.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you don't like when we go to the store. Exactly.
SPEAKER_02And I actually I have an odd thing. I love going to the grocery store. Love it. Love going to Costco. Love going to the grocery store.
SPEAKER_01Oh. I have like the strongest beef with Costco. My eyes get so dry in there. I'm like, what is in the air here? Why are my eyes get so dried out? I hate it.
SPEAKER_02That is the weirdest thing I've ever heard.
SPEAKER_01I I literally I refuse to go because it dries my eyes out, and I feel like I can't even open my eyes.
SPEAKER_02Costco is fantastic. Costco is the best. Go get a $2 ice cream with the boys, put it, put them in the cart. They're ecstatic. Walk around, get some samples. Fantastic Saturday activity.
SPEAKER_01No. Ooh, Costco on a Saturday? Even worse.
SPEAKER_02When's the last time you went to Costco?
SPEAKER_01Oh, like probably a couple months ago. Michael was like, let's go to Costco. We were like out doing something. And I was like, I'll drop you off, I'll circle the parking lot, and then I'll come pick you up. I circled the parking lot for maybe 15 minutes waiting for Michael inside Costco because I couldn't go inside.
SPEAKER_02That in Charlottesville, Dean, Wesley, and I would go to Costco probably three or four times a week. Because we would go, go get some ice cream, walk around, get some samples, and just leave. It's fantastic.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, see, I guess that's cute. It's just it's so busy and I don't like seeing people.
SPEAKER_02You're such a brat.
SPEAKER_01And like, I just I want to go to Harman's. If I'm gonna go anywhere, I'm gonna go to Harman's, but like if I'm gonna go to Harman's, I'm just gonna do Harman's online and have it delivered right to my doorstep.
SPEAKER_02Yes, and pay 40% extra on what you should be buying.
SPEAKER_01No, the delivery fee is like eight dollars.
SPEAKER_02But Harman's in general is like a markup of 30% on everything.
SPEAKER_01Oh, well, yeah, but they're amazing.
SPEAKER_02This oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_01So it's worth it.
SPEAKER_02Not worth it. Okay, go back to your list. Did you finish it?
SPEAKER_01Oh the last one was um you would miss me too much.
SPEAKER_02Which is that is true. You could not function.
SPEAKER_01I can't function without Michael.
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_01Um we are kind of in a fight right now, though. We're well, I mean, it's like first world props, first world fight. We're fighting over who gets his truck.
SPEAKER_02Oh my gosh. Which why should you ever get it?
SPEAKER_01But well, because I have horses. What what does he have? He doesn't have to haul anyone but himself. So he can take my job, and he bought the truck. Yeah, no, and that obviously trumps all, and that's why he 99% of the time has his truck. But like I texted him this morning and I was like, Did you take my truck? And he was like, You mean my truck? Yeah, I took my truck. And I was like, but I was gonna go move the trailer today. And he was like, That's tough.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, tough. Tough.
SPEAKER_01What'd you say? Oh, oh, Shannon, Shannon said she's getting me a used truck. Alert the press.
SPEAKER_02Wow.
SPEAKER_01We're getting a new truck.
SPEAKER_02There you go. We're gonna keep that thing. You guys get news.
SPEAKER_01This is news to Michael, but There you go. Whatever.
SPEAKER_02Just trade it in the other car out there in the Get a truck.
unknownAnd then we'll just get a used truck. That's that's my plan.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_02Wow. Negotiations deals are being done live on the podcast.
SPEAKER_01I want I want an F-350.
SPEAKER_02You want the most massive biggest truck?
SPEAKER_01No, the most massive biggest truck would be like a dually F-450. You are such I want an F-350, Super Duty, King Ranch, or Platinum.
SPEAKER_02It's like you're ordering at a restaurant right now. Excuse me. You're at the freaking checkout window at Swig. Um, I'll get a Diet Coke Rice. I'll get it at the end.
SPEAKER_01I'm actually a lot, I'm a lot nicer when I order at places than that.
SPEAKER_02You're such a brat. Anyway, alright. Uh my updates. We're on week two in the hotel, waiting for the house to be done.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, how's hotel life?
SPEAKER_02Honestly, not that bad. I don't know what Megan says. What does Megan say to you? Does she say it's fine?
SPEAKER_01She says it's not that bad either. She says it's fine. It's fine. I mean, obviously it's not ideal, but it's fine.
SPEAKER_02The boys are great, they're having a fun time. Luckily, like they kind of go with the flow pretty well, and I've dragged them to so many different things. We traveled a lot already. We've moved a lot already. So, like, there's kind of like whatever. Go with the flow.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02It was a little sad this morning when we did Dean's first day of school. And we had to do that from the hotel. Like Megan tried to make it look cute, which was really nice of her.
SPEAKER_01No, she did. It was so cute. Her setup was so cute.
SPEAKER_02And it was. And but it was like, I felt bad because, you know, I put us in this situation, and she's having to decorate the hotel.
SPEAKER_01You don't want to put your necklace on oh my gosh.
unknownSorry, sorry, you're sorry.
SPEAKER_01Oh my gosh. I heard the Nordstrom in Dallas is really good though.
SPEAKER_02It is massive and Shannon, we've got lots of expensive stuff.
SPEAKER_01Hello, where do you think we bought your cardio watch? We walked through the Nordstrom in Dallas.
SPEAKER_02Well, you're her nurse.
SPEAKER_01My nurse duties are officially over on Thursday. Actually, my nurse duties have been over for pretty much like the last like four days now. Thank the Lord.
SPEAKER_02But anyway, back to our living in the hotel. Yeah, Megan did a good job. She got it. I mean, she did a good job with what she had. We had clothes everywhere. And are you just texting again?
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_02Who are you texting? Would you like to share?
SPEAKER_01No, I want to.
SPEAKER_02As your face just brightens up.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_02Anyway, back to my story, which is never important because you just get distracted.
SPEAKER_01It is.
SPEAKER_02Whatever. Anyway, so we had that. But Dean was great. He seemed happy.
SPEAKER_01We went and got How was his first day? What did he say? Give us the You know what?
SPEAKER_02So I went and got him a little cars, some cars for a prize after his first day. And I gave it to him mistakenly right after the he got in the car. And so then he didn't want to talk because he just wanted to look at his two cars. So he didn't tell us too much. Other than he had fun. Oh wait, I gave him so I gave him a hug when he came out. I was like, Dean, like, how was it? And he's it was great. Or no, he said, he's like, it was good. And I was like, were you nervous? He's like, yeah. And he's like, oh, wait, no, I had a massively good day.
SPEAKER_01I was like, oh, that's so cool. I was like, that's good. Oh, I love that. That's good.
SPEAKER_02So it seemed like he had fun.
SPEAKER_01Um well, he's like so good at like socializing and making friends. So I knew he would. Honestly, you want to know who I was worried for? The two people I was worried for the most, Megan and Weston. Because like Weston doesn't know life without Dean.
SPEAKER_02I know. Well, he did it last year.
SPEAKER_01That's true. But he only went like two days a week, right?
SPEAKER_02It's only three. Yeah. So not much of a difference.
SPEAKER_01But yeah.
SPEAKER_02No, he was very excited. Weston ran up to the door, was clapping, waiting for Dean.
SPEAKER_01So he's so cute.
SPEAKER_02But it'll be good for Dean for Weston to have some one-on-one time with mom, you know.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Not not being or not fighting his brother the whole day.
SPEAKER_01So right. Yeah, it's a good break. Maybe it'll make like distance makes the heart grow faster.
SPEAKER_02For sure. Or it'll make them get more excited and fight even more. That's hard to do.
SPEAKER_01Well, maybe, but whatever.
SPEAKER_02Uh, what else has been going on with hotel life?
SPEAKER_01Um I've been what's going on with the renovations? I think then give us an update on that. Give us the time.
SPEAKER_02Inspection is tomorrow. Move in Friday.
SPEAKER_01It's exciting.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I've been told it's 100% done. We're in Friday. So crossing my fingers.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_02We'll be in. Uh I won't have to go to the laundromat anymore. That's been fun.
SPEAKER_01I'm so excited about that.
SPEAKER_02Laundromat's not that bad. But actually.
SPEAKER_01Ever since you said that you've been going to the laundromat, randomly on my TikTok, this girl will pop up and she'll be like, come with me to clean out my laundromat and like see how much money we made. It's still recording.
SPEAKER_02All right. We're talking about laundromats.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yes, I forgot about the laundry mat. No, this lady though, she is like, she'll clean out like the lint trays of the laundromat. They're like massive. They're like this big. And she'll just like take like a shop back and like vacuum all the lint out, and then she'll like count up how much money she made over the weekend. It actually is like weirdly like satisfying to watch.
SPEAKER_02How much is she making?
SPEAKER_01Oh, I don't know. Like I don't know.
SPEAKER_02Like a couple bucks?
SPEAKER_01No, no, like hundreds, if not thousands. Like maybe like a thousand over the weekend or something.
SPEAKER_02From the vents? Or from the laundromat?
SPEAKER_01No, from the laundromat.
SPEAKER_02Oh, oh, oh, oh.
SPEAKER_01No, the vents is just the lint, the lint that she's cleaning out.
SPEAKER_02I thought like, but I was thinking money gets like falls out of this phone. Oh, no, no, no, no, no. And goes into that. No. I was like, a thousand bucks is nuts. No, no. It's fake. Okay. Anyway, enough of my laundromats. That's what we've been dealing with. Um, but before this, we were talking about funny insults for men. Because I can't remember what we were talking about. And you were reading some. So do you want to read we're gonna use one for something?
SPEAKER_01I just like go on TikTok because like TikTok is now my Google.
SPEAKER_02You wait, people actually do that though? Like you Google things on TikTok?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I think it was last year TikTok had like more like Google searches than Google did.
SPEAKER_02That's insane.
SPEAKER_01Because there's like a video, there's a tutorial for everything now.
SPEAKER_02It is so weird. Uh yeah, I didn't know that was a thing. Anyway. Odd.
SPEAKER_01So I just said like funny insults for men.
SPEAKER_02Okay. So are you gonna test these on me and see if they're insulting or not?
SPEAKER_01Uh yeah. Um, this girl said, mid-argument, I asked him if he wishes his voice was deeper.
SPEAKER_02Oh my gosh. These are like personal attack, mean ones, though.
SPEAKER_01They're just like funny. Um this guy commented and said, one time my wife asked me, from an outsider's perspective, what do you think of smart people?
SPEAKER_02Oh my gosh. That's actually pretty funny.
SPEAKER_01Somebody said, um, tell him you found a picture of him as a baby and then show him a picture you just took of him.
SPEAKER_02That one's okay. That one's average.
SPEAKER_01Um, I can explain it to you again, but I can't understand it for you. Classic.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01Um decent.
SPEAKER_02The other ones are better.
SPEAKER_01Somebody said, when he tells me to do something, I say, what was that?
SPEAKER_02What was what?
SPEAKER_01I heard it like a beep.
SPEAKER_02Oh, it might have been my phone.
SPEAKER_01No. Um somebody said, When he tells me to do something, I say, you're not in charge at work. Why would you be in charge here?
SPEAKER_02That one is rough. That one is so degrading. This like right below the belly.
SPEAKER_01This girl said, when my husband gets super mad, I tell him to go put on a cape so he can be super mad. Get it.
SPEAKER_02That's so good.
SPEAKER_01Whatever makes you feel taller.
SPEAKER_02That one. I obviously luckily am not like too short. But that one would be a low blow.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02You should use that.
SPEAKER_01Here's it. This one is. I actually like this one. I think it's funny. Only if you it only works if you catch them lying. It's it's your lie. Tell it however you want.
unknownThat's funny.
SPEAKER_02That is funny. Um, all right, you got more, are you done?
SPEAKER_01This one is. I'm surprised you know that to basic information.
SPEAKER_02Oh my gosh. I hate TikTok. TikTok is the worst.
SPEAKER_01Somebody said, I love how you don't let facts get in the way of your opinion. That's funny.
SPEAKER_02That's actually a good one. You should use that one.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but it doesn't make sense. I'm gonna use that on it. It doesn't make sense in this situation.
SPEAKER_02Oh, the situation you can use in it. But I'm gonna use that on you sometime.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah. I am very factual.
SPEAKER_02You're tick-ta tick tock tactual.
SPEAKER_01You can't even you can't even say it.
SPEAKER_02Uh because I was making up a word. Oh. Because you're not you're not factual. You're you use TikTok as your facts.
SPEAKER_01Well, sometimes TikTok is facts.
SPEAKER_02Sometimes, exactly. Proves my point.
SPEAKER_01TikTok knows more than you do.
SPEAKER_02You're acting like TikTok is the one providing the opinions when it's dumb people on TikTok providing the opinions.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but sometimes they're really convincing.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. This is my thing. And I'm sure we've talked about this million times that the ones that are convincing are the ones you're gonna see because those are the ones that get the views. They're not gonna the ones that don't get views are not getting promoted.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's true.
SPEAKER_02Okay, anyway, you're you are acting very bored with this.
SPEAKER_01No, I I was just trying to think. Like, I saw this one about like a supplement or something. Because you know how like TikTok, whenever I see anything from TikTok shop, I just like scroll. Like, I don't even listen to it. I just like, yeah, that's stupid, whatever.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01But I saw this one, and it was this doctor. He's like, I Googled him, he's a legit doctor, but he has like a TikTok shop, and he was like making an argument of like why you should be taking like a certain supplement. I can't even remember what it was. And I was listening to him and I was like, I should be taking that. But it's just because he wants me to buy from his TikTok shop, so he makes a commission off of me.
SPEAKER_02It's just crazy, all the different trends that come just so we buy them. Like, I feel like right now a big one is creatine. And all of the I mean, maybe there's some benefits, but creatine's been around for so long. And all of a sudden now there's all these benefits. Like, what's what why was that not the case 10 years ago?
SPEAKER_01Well, maybe we just have better knowledge and we did more testing on it.
SPEAKER_02I guess so. The companies that supply it and have created the comp created the products, yes, it did more testing on it, and now they have the results for us to purchase.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Drives me insane. But it's like next year's gonna be something new.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's all it's always something new. For a while, it was I don't know even what it was for a while. Electrolytes.
SPEAKER_02Electrolytes is a big one. That one's kind of dying off because people realizing they're taking an insane amount of salt in their body.
SPEAKER_01It's a lot of salt and it's gross.
SPEAKER_02A lot of salt.
SPEAKER_01They're not even good. Like I don't Shannon. One time I was like so thirsty, and I took Shannon's water bottle and I just thought it was water. It was her electrolytes. It was the most disgusting thing I've ever tasted in my life. I don't know how people drink it.
SPEAKER_02I don't know how people survived before we didn't have electrolytes.
SPEAKER_01Like, yeah, it's like I don't you yeah.
SPEAKER_02That one's that one kills me. Athletic greens, like all the greens drinks.
SPEAKER_01Oh Michael Michael loves athletic greens.
SPEAKER_02I mean his green drinks every morning. But at the same time, I can't bash people for getting their vitamins. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_01I mean, yeah, it's a it's a good way. I I understand athletic greens because like it is a good way to get your greens or your vitamins or whatever.
SPEAKER_02But it's like the I think it's the made not the made up, but the like uh finagling of statistics and data to like say you have to have this.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02That's what bugs me.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Is that I don't know. Is that what you're gonna say? What were you gonna say?
SPEAKER_01No, I was just like, I was just trying to think of like something that like Michael has fallen into because he sometimes when there are packages on the door, I'm like, what is this? Like, I know he saw this as like a sponsored ad on Instagram and he fell into the trap.
SPEAKER_02He fell into the trap. Oh, my favorite one. Your dad, your dad's the he he does get some funny things sometimes. My favorite one that he got, it wasn't a supplement or anything, it was it looked like um a skateboard, but then it had a strap over the top to like practice balance. Yeah, I was like, it's like what is this?
SPEAKER_01Why do you need that? If you want to practice balance, like go walk on the curb or something, like literally, and it's always like fitness stuff. It's like, what was that one thing? He bought this one thing. I feel like I posted it on Instagram um like a couple years ago where it like is supposed to like help you stretch. And I'm like, why do you need to buy that to help you stretch? Just stretch yourself. I'm like, why do you need that gadget? It's like this weird, like, I don't even know.
SPEAKER_02But I relate to that though, because there's always like something you hope is gonna motivate you to actually do it. It's like you buy something, like for me, it's always I love any electronic thing. And especially like next, like tomorrow, it's gonna be the new Apple Watch that comes out. And I'm like, I'm gonna convince myself that if I buy it, I'm gonna be healthier and I'm gonna work out more. Or my other one is I mean, I work out every day anymore, anyway, but or I'm going to use my phone less, so I'm gonna buy the Apple Watch because it'll always be on my my wrist. Like I'll put the phone away.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, his screen time will go down.
SPEAKER_02Never works. Yeah, never works.
SPEAKER_01Michael actually does love his whoop though.
SPEAKER_02The whoop.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02That one is cool. I uh I just don't like sleeping with something on my wrist, so that's why I I don't use mine as much. But it gives some cool data. It's good.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, Michael likes it because it tracks his um like high blood pressure.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01But then when he looks at it and it says he's in the red zone, which is like you're high, then it I think it like stresses him out even more. So then he's high, but then he's like trying not to be high. It's just like a bad cycle.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, people talk about like, for example, you don't sleep enough, and so then your sleep score is really low. And so then the whole day, all you do is stress because you didn't get enough sleep.
SPEAKER_01And how you're worried about you're like, okay, I have to get a good night's sleep tonight, and then you're all worried about it, and then you don't get a good night's sleep.
SPEAKER_02Yep. And so it's like, is it actually helping you or hurting you?
SPEAKER_01You know, I don't think I've ever had that issue.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I don't think that's something you would need to track. I don't think you need to track your sleep.
SPEAKER_01Like, if there's one thing about me, it's that I could sleep anywhere at any time. It actually honestly is like a skill. Is it like last yes yesterday at Emily's when I started to get like the visual aura thing? I just like literally laid down on her couch. All of Canon's friends were overswimming, they were like being loud and crazy. I slept for probably like two or three hours.
SPEAKER_02I don't know if I would define that as a skill.
SPEAKER_01So being able to sleep anywhere at any time, I actually do think that's a skill. Because a lot of people can't do that.
SPEAKER_02Canon, all his friends are over. Who's that sleeping on the couch?
SPEAKER_01Well, no, they were like all swimming in the pool and they were like running down into the gym, and then like London was watching a show next to me on the TV, but it's like I it it didn't bother me. Like I was like, oh whatever, I'll just go to sleep.
SPEAKER_02I'm like one of the other. If I was one of the other friends, I'd be like, that's a freaking lazy chick.
SPEAKER_01First of all, it was Labor Day.
SPEAKER_02Just skidding.
SPEAKER_01Second of all, all of Canon's friends love me.
SPEAKER_02Sure. Sure. Um, I had another husband translation for us.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_02Okay. This one. We would love to see you more. So like you see you meet some people and the husband's like, oh yeah, we'd love to see you more. Or like, we'd love to have you over again.
SPEAKER_01I don't know. Or we'd love to have I don't think or we'd love to have you over. Yeah, I don't think there's anything wrong with that.
SPEAKER_02Well, no, you just think the husband actually means it.
SPEAKER_01Uh I wouldn't even think twice about that, if he meant it or not.
SPEAKER_02You would just think he's being nice.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's like it's like when somebody's like, oh, how are you? Even if you're not doing well, nine times out of ten, you're not gonna be like, oh, I'm I'm actually doing really bad. You're just like, yeah, I'm good. It's just like something you say. It's like, okay, see uh let's do a farewell greeting soon. Like I wouldn't even think twice.
SPEAKER_02So you know it's fake.
SPEAKER_01But maybe it's not. Maybe he's like, I actually really like hanging out with them. We should do the we should hang out with them more. And then you'd be like, oh yeah, sure.
SPEAKER_02But can't you really I mean I feel like I can tell when Megan is different about like, oh yeah, I actually want to see someone again versus I'm just saying this to be nice. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_01Well yeah. But it depends on the people and it depends on the situation. So in this case, I I I don't know what the context is.
SPEAKER_02Okay, fine. So we're just gonna say this one's this one's like a wash. This one's a wash. Alright. You okay, these are this is another one for like other people. The husband says you don't have to bring anything. Is this another wash?
SPEAKER_01Um no, I'm assuming he's saying this to like people that they're having over.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_01And so it's like they're probably like, oh, like what can we help with? And you're like, oh no, you don't have to bring anything. I get it. Don't bring anything, but bring like a host gift.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah. Well that's one thing. Um is that a thing? Like people bring host gifts?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think it's like nice etiquette, proper etiquette. It's thoughtful. Especially if they're like having a big party and they're like you know they're cooking or catering or whatever, and you're like, oh, what can I help with? And they're like, no, no, like you don't have to bring anything. Bring the hostess like a candle or like I don't know, something. Because it's just nice. It's like, thanks for putting in all this effort and doing all the work.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I get that. I get that. But yeah, if they say, I mean, when I say don't bring anything, or like, for example, they ask, can we help with anything? It's always like, no, like you're never gonna say yes, like please help.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, unless it's like, okay, you bring a salad and you bring the like, do you know what I mean? It's like sometimes like I feel like girls do that. Girlfriends do that where it's like, okay, you're gonna bring the salad, I'm gonna bring the rolls, you're gonna bring the dessert, whatever. But when you're having like a party, it's like no, you just like you're not gonna have your guests do anything.
SPEAKER_02What if it's the family party or like a family thing? And it's for example, it's at our house, and we say, Oh, you don't have to bring anything.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah. If you're telling us not to bring anything, we're not bringing anything. And Emily and Rachel, if you tell them to bring something, more Emily than Rachel, if you tell them not to bring some, or if even if you tell them to bring something, they're not bringing anything.
SPEAKER_02They're not bringing nothing.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Or they'll bring it and then they'll make it at your house.
SPEAKER_02And then they'll yell at you if they don't have the if you don't have the ingredients for what they're supposed to bring.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, they're like, who doesn't have candied walnuts?
SPEAKER_02And you're like, I don't know, you that's so true because they're like freaking out over the candied walnuts. Like, who doesn't have these? Like it's an everyday essential.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. That drives Michael crazy when we're doing like Sunday dinner, and he's like, okay, bring a salad, and then they'll bring a salad and then they'll make it there and have to cook everything there. And then they're missing like one thing, and they're like, How dare you not have candied walnuts?
SPEAKER_02I feel like then it just ends up being like a bag Caesar salad.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no, literally.
SPEAKER_02Uh, the worst. The worst. That's funny. Um, all right. Well, that was the only ones I really had today. They weren't really that great. Um well, two are I mean, I was gonna do judge and jury. Let's do them.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, let's do it.
SPEAKER_02All right. My sister watches our kids for free once a month. Last Friday we got home 90 minutes late because dinner ran long. We texted her and she said, okay. And then the next morning she sent a $90 Venmo request and she labeled it overtime. We never discussed paying her what?
SPEAKER_01How whoa. Okay, sorry. I'm gonna admit it. I was texting. Can we back up just a little bit? No, I know. Sorry, that was on me, and I will take accountability for that and look, my phone's away now. Okay, so she watches her sister's kids for free once a month. Go from there.
SPEAKER_02Once a month. Last Friday, we got home 90 minutes late because dinner ran long. We text her, she said, okay. Like they let her know they were going to be late. The next morning, she sent a $90 Venmo request and she labeled it overtime.
SPEAKER_01She's charging a minute, um like a dollar a minute.
SPEAKER_02She said, and then it goes on. We never discussed paying her. She says almost home always turns into another hour. My husband says she can't invent a price afterward. I offered to pay a sitter next time but refused the bill. Who's wrong?
SPEAKER_01I think that's pretty crazy. I think if you are being like, yeah, I'll watch your kids one time a month, and they're 90 minutes late, like, who cares? It's like, what, you think you get time and a half? That's crazy.
SPEAKER_02I get it. You don't get a little mad when you're watching someone's kids, or it could be my kids or Emily and Rachel's, and they're late. Super late.
SPEAKER_01I mean, that doesn't bug you. Super late. I don't think 90 minutes is super late. If they didn't come home until 3 a.m., yes, that's a different story.
SPEAKER_02Okay. 90 minutes to most people is super late.
SPEAKER_01Well, I don't think, I mean, I I don't know. To for me who watches my sister's kids for free, like often. Very, very often, I would never even think to be like, I'm gonna charge you a minute, a dollar a minute, because you were 90 minutes late, so I get $90. Or like one time Rachel and Drew went out of town and Rachel told me the wrong dates, and I think she got home like a day or two after I thought I was gonna be done. So then I had to watch the kids for an extra two days. And even say I was just like, oh yeah, Rachel's an idiot, and she got her dates wrong. I wasn't like I I don't know, I just think that's so bizarre.
SPEAKER_02I mean, I could see it. I could see where if the person's coming home late all the time, I mean, she must really not like watching her nieces and nephews. But if they're coming home home late all the time and you want to like maybe send a message or make them aware, I I think there's better ways to do it. But like I could I get it because I hate this is okay, this is something that drives me insane with you. You all are late to Fing everything. Drives me insane.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so maybe that's why I don't think it's that big of a deal. Because like Rachel and Drew or Emily Terry will be like, yeah, we'll be home at 9 p.m. They show up at like 10 30.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, like you're expecting it. Yeah, it drives me insane. And I don't, I like I hate it. If someone says a time, like that's the time.
SPEAKER_01I I agree with you in the sense of like if she's getting sick of it, of them like always being like, okay, we're almost home, and then they're like an hour and a half late every time they always say they're almost home. I get her wanting to be like, hey, I made plans, so like you real I really need you to be home at this time. But like I agree with you in a sense of like she should have approached it differently than just like requesting $90 being like over time.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I just hate it because it makes it feel like whenever you're late, in my opinion, is your that makes it feel like their time is more valuable than your time. Yeah, that's what bugs me. And it's like, okay, so you're just saying like F my time, you know what, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_01But like in this case, I do get it. It's like maybe it's like they're one time a month or like one time a week that they get to just like be alone. And so, like, if dinner ran a little extra longer, it's like I don't really think that's that big of a deal unless she was like, Hey, I have to leave at this time. I have things to do after, and they just like blatantly ignore, then it's like, yes, that's a different story.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. So would you pay the bill or not? She sends the 90 bucks. You not paying it, or are you paying her?
SPEAKER_01I would pay it and then I'd never ask her to watch my kids again. I just at that point I'd just hire a babysitter.
SPEAKER_02True, probably cheaper. But actually, but like, I don't know. I don't know what I'd do.
SPEAKER_01I would I mean, what would you do if I sent like, okay, for example, before Megan left, she went and got her nails done. I watched the boys while she went and got her nails done. Could you imagine if I was like, she was 30 minutes later, then she told me I'm requesting you $30? What would you would tell me to like go kick rocks?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I would say that to you.
SPEAKER_01But that's a crazy point.
SPEAKER_02That is a little crazy. That is a little crazy.
SPEAKER_01Like that's it's it's like I'm my niece and nephew. It's my privilege to watch the kids.
SPEAKER_02Uh I appreciate that. That is your privilege. Uh I don't know. That one's tough. I I get it, but at the same time, unless it was like a 14-year-old girl.
SPEAKER_01Like, I don't know. Even then, even when I Megan and I would babysit together all the time when we were growing up, and I feel like the parents were always late, and we were just like, okay, whatever.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. When you put it in the context of you doing it, I would be like, yeah, don't. I'm not sending you $30.
SPEAKER_01Like, yeah, come on. No, because that's crazy.
SPEAKER_02So verdict is don't don't pay her.
SPEAKER_01Verdict is either pay her and don't ask her to watch your kids again, or don't pay her and don't ask her to watch your kids again.
SPEAKER_02Just send her an LOL text and don't pay her.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Like re reject the Venmo payment.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Cancel the request. Like bye.
SPEAKER_02Alright. One last one. We gotta make it quick. My in-laws gave us $15,000. Are you gonna text this time? Are you gonna listen?
SPEAKER_01I'm listening. I'm not texting.
SPEAKER_02I heard you tapping on the floor.
SPEAKER_01I was popping my knuckles, you freak.
SPEAKER_02Oh my gosh. Alright. My in-laws gave us $15,000 toward our new kitchen. We just we never discussed strings. Now my mother-in-law wants to host Thanksgiving at our house. Invite 18 people and choose the menu. I said she's welcome for dinner, but I'm not hosting her whole party. My husband says it's one meal after a huge gift. She says, I'm happy to take her money, but not make room for her family. Am I being ungrateful?
SPEAKER_01Well, wait, who is she hosting? Is she hosting like this lady's friends or is she hosting the family?
SPEAKER_02That is unclear.
SPEAKER_01If she's hosting the family, I'm like, yeah, host the family. That's weird. Like, let that be Thanksgiving. She's probably excited about the new kitchen and wants to show it off. Let her host. If it's for her friends, I would be annoyed. I'd probably let her because I'd feel obligated, like, okay, if she just like bought me a new kitchen, I have to let her host. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01But like that is annoying. But if it's for family, then who cares?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, if it's for family, then I'd be like, fine, we get it. Like, come over. But if it's for her friends, that'd be tough. But at the same time, it's like you except that the money is kind of like if it's like a one-time thing, I would be like, sure. But if she all of a sudden starts trying to make a habit or like doing it a couple times a year, where like all of a sudden she uses our kid since we're running out of time. My verdict is you let her host this one. Let her host this one, but if it gets worse, you're gonna have to say, like, we can't keep hosting all your parties.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I agree. I would be like, Yeah, you can host this one. And like, if it's your mother-in-law, your husband, the husband needs to be like, you can host the one, and that's it. Like, you you can't like anytime you want to host, you can't just like come use our kitchen.
SPEAKER_02And this is if it's like the family party, you'd be like, Yeah, great, we'll host this year. Next year, we'll go to XYZ's house. Yeah. You know what I mean? Yeah. Like just push it off that way. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I agree.
