Amy and Zach are back with a full chaos recap of Zach’s graduation weekend in Charlottesville. They talk family sleepover madness, Dean and Weston stealing the show at graduation, Amy’s Chanel flip flop injury, Black Cow dinner drama, fishing in designer shoes, and Zach feeling sentimental about leaving Darden.
Amy also reveals that she bought a horse, which leads to horse name debates, barn drama, chickens, ticks, dating red flags, Snap Score stalking, phone snooping, and two new Judge & Jury submissions.
Should Amy name her horse Ace? Should Zach and Megan get chickens? And who is right when someone cancels on a destination wedding three weeks out because their dog is sick?
Welcome back to Legally Friends. We are your hosts, Amy and Zach, and it's an amazing week, if I do say so myself.
SPEAKER_01An amazing week?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it was an amazing week. From last week.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's true. It was a fun week.
SPEAKER_00I don't know if how much fun you actually thought it was, but like we had a blast.
SPEAKER_01No, I did have fun. I'd say today I'm not in the I don't know, the best mood.
SPEAKER_00Uh-oh. What happened?
SPEAKER_01No, we can talk about it later, but just house drama.
SPEAKER_00Uh-oh.
SPEAKER_01Megan and I just battling back and forth on some stuff, you know.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01You know how that goes. But last week was fun.
SPEAKER_00Be honest. On a scale of one to ten, how happy were you when me, Michael, and Shannon got up at 4 a.m. and left you guys alone?
SPEAKER_01I was so happy I didn't go back to sleep.
SPEAKER_00You were up partying for the rest of the night.
SPEAKER_01I actually didn't go back to sleep. I went to the gym after that. I kind of fell back to sleep. But um no, I was excited to have my room back because we gave up our bed for Michael and Shannon, and I hadn't used my bathroom, my closet. It was just nice to have my space back.
SPEAKER_00If there's one thing about us, like we're gonna come in and we're gonna take over and we're gonna make ourselves right at home.
SPEAKER_01I know that it was the day after. I was laying on the couch and I was like, wow, it feels good to sit on my couch again because it was purely dominated by Amy laying down on it, and then it would be your dad sitting in the corner and then Shannon on the other side. So and our couch isn't that big, so there was no room for anybody else.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so let's look at that.
SPEAKER_00Let's explain, let's explain the sleeping situation. So you and Megan were so so kind, and you gave your room to Michael and Shannon. The old folks, and then me, Megan, and Dean all slept in Dean's room.
SPEAKER_01Yes, but and Dean had a little side bed.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, yeah. We took we took the crib mattress out of Weston's old crib, and so Dean slept on the mattress next to our mattress, and then you and Weston slept in Weston's room.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and so we have queen beds in each of the kids' rooms. Yeah, so it wasn't like terrible, but it was still, you know, I didn't sleep too great, especially with Weston. He keeps you up all night long because he's always touching you and smacking you in the face and sleeps weird.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01So yeah, it was nice to sleep in my own bed again.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, me and Megan had a great time. You know, it really just took me back to when we shared a bed all growing up. And so I loved it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I loved walking by your room and seeing you rocking yourself to sleep every five seconds, you know?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I know. I do do that, but you know, does anyone else ever do that?
SPEAKER_01I've never heard of someone doing that until I met you. Like I'm very curious to are there other people that rock themselves to sleep.
SPEAKER_00I personally don't know anybody who rocks themselves to sleep, besides myself, obviously. But I do know that there are other people who do it because when I I was little, like when I was like a baby, Shannon saw that I was doing it, and she was like, Uh-oh, is there something wrong with this thing? So she took me to the pediatrician, and the pediatrician was like, Oh no, that's normal.
SPEAKER_01Like she's got lots of issues.
SPEAKER_00You're so rude. No. My amazing pediatrician was like, No, that's normal. She's just self-soothing.
SPEAKER_01So you're always self-soothing. You must have a little bit more.
SPEAKER_00I just like I'm trying to like regulate my nervous system or something. I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Are you just constantly under stress? And so you're always just having to soothe yourself.
SPEAKER_00No, it's not even stress. It's just like when I'm just sitting there, I just like I always have to be moving. So it's either I'm like jiggling my leg or I don't know.
SPEAKER_01I just like Do you do the finger thing? I feel like Megan does that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I I go like this.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Or like I'm constantly popping my knuckles, which Shannon hates. I don't know. I just feel like I always have to be moving. So, like, like I don't know. Even when I'm sitting on the couch, I just like want to rock, you know?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Back to the Virginia trip though.
SPEAKER_00Uh yes.
SPEAKER_01So, okay, so they everyone came in town. It was very nice of you all to come to celebrate.
SPEAKER_00I came for graduation, which was great. That was a big day.
SPEAKER_01You guys got in on what a Wednesday night, and then you left first thing Tuesday morning. So a solid was almost a week, six days.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um, so what was your favorite part of the trip?
SPEAKER_00Ooh, my favorite part of the trip was okay. I have two, I have a twofer.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_00Um graduation day, watching Deanny and Wesie in their little cute cap and gowns go across the stage with you.
SPEAKER_01I thought you were gonna say me, but I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_00Well, I mean, you were kind of a part of it because like they walked across the stage with you.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that was cool.
SPEAKER_00Like, that was just so cute. And when I was in like the little drop-off zone, the amount of people that were like, oh my gosh, that is the most adorable thing. One of the like university like staff was like, Can I take a picture of the back of them? She's like, I'm not gonna post it anywhere, but I want to take a picture of the back of them for next year's graduation.
SPEAKER_01Oh, that's cool.
SPEAKER_00And I was like, Yeah, of course.
SPEAKER_01Um little they know, they're already employed, and this is part of their part-time job. Just kidding. Posting for pictures.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Um, what was oh, the my other favorite part was um when we went to Burger Night at the country club.
SPEAKER_01Burger Night is the best. So for people who don't know, obviously everybody, there's $5 Burger Night at the Country Club that we go to. And so we have not missed a Monday in like I don't know, this whole year. We go every night, every Monday. It's the best.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it was really fun.
SPEAKER_01No, that was a good time. And we just kind of sat and wandered around and hung out for a while for a while. So it was good. That was but that was your two favorite things. So what was your what was your least favorite then?
SPEAKER_00Oh, well.
SPEAKER_01Oh, so there's a lot of those.
SPEAKER_00No, just my least favorite was when Michael made us go to that um battle. It wasn't a battle, but it was a historic site. I can't remember what it's called. Where they signed Gener I don't know what it's called, but General Lee signed his Confederate soldiers over to the Union to General Grant, who then later became the president of the United States.
SPEAKER_01Nice.
SPEAKER_00And I'm pretty sure he's on the $20 bill.
SPEAKER_01So why was that your least favorite? Oh, because wait, Grant? No, Jackson's on the $20 bill.
SPEAKER_00Is Grant on a bill?
SPEAKER_01I don't think so. But I don't know.
SPEAKER_00He should be. Anyway, whatever.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I need to look.
SPEAKER_00You look while I tell what happened. And it's not that going was my least favorite part. It's what happened. So you go to like the visitor center, and there's upstairs explains like the whole history of like it's a four-year war. It pretty much ended to the day four years later.
SPEAKER_01The 50.
SPEAKER_00I knew he was on one. Nice. Um, anyway, so we're upstairs, we're looking around, we're looking at all the like bayonets and like the stuff. And we're walking downstairs, and it's like these metal stairs. And I wore my Chanel flip-flops.
SPEAKER_01I was not there. I was home with the kids. So I this is actually first time for me hearing the story, but keep going.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so I'm wearing my Chanel flip-flops, and they have zero traction on the bottom.
SPEAKER_01It's just like Damn, for all that money you paid too. No traction?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no traction. So they're a little slippery. Like, remember, I kept slipping at fishing on the grass. I kept like, yeah. Anyway, so I I go to step on the first step, and I just like slip, like my feet like go out from under me. And I like try to catch myself, and something happened where I like jammed my foot into the metal stair, and then my toe, my middle toe, starts like gushing blood.
SPEAKER_01Oh man.
SPEAKER_00Did you did you see the top?
SPEAKER_01I saw the picture. I saw the picture.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, there was like a pool of blood in my Chanel flip-flop. It was devastating. But they're leather, so like Megan got a wiped, wiped it right off. It was totally fine. So my toe really freaking hurt. My my little toenail is like gonna come off, and it's like all my other toenails are like straight, normal looking, and then this one's like it's kind of like your face. You're such a bitch.
SPEAKER_01But yeah, that that looked really painful. I've lost a few nails in my day, and it is it hurts really bad.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so then that happened, and then we met you guys for dinner at that one place that was really good. I don't remember what it's called.
SPEAKER_01Um Black Cow.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, if you guys are ever in Charlottesville, go to Black Cow because that was really good. Um, they sat us outside. It was at least 105 degrees.
SPEAKER_01Okay, it's an exaggeration.
SPEAKER_00It was hot and it was very so hot and so humid, and like I was already in pain because of my little toe. And like at one point, I was like trying not to like be dramatic because like I already had my dramatic moment with my toe at the historical site, and all the workers were like, Did you just fall down the stairs? And I was like, Don't look at me.
SPEAKER_01Like, yeah, did you cry?
SPEAKER_00No, I didn't cry, but like it really freaking hurt.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Anyway, so then we get to the restaurant, they seat us outside, it's hot as balls out there, and I'm like sitting on the end, like trying to like put on a brave face. At one point, I like legit genuinely thought I was going to pass out. So I ordered a lemonade because I was like, okay, maybe I just like need some sugar.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, when I heard that order, I was like, who ordered a lemonade? Like so random.
SPEAKER_00No, it's because I thought I was gonna pass out, but I like didn't want to be dramatic because I'm like, this is Zach's graduation dinner. Thank you. So then I'm just like sick. Like, I was I was not well.
SPEAKER_01So I remember I'm sitting there. I can't remember at what point the it was during the dinner, and I'm just like eating, and so it's the dinner setup at me. It's like a six-person table with Weston on the end. It goes, me, Megan, Amy, and then I think maybe Dean was on or Dean was on the other side, and then Shan and Mike will I can't remember. Mike, so I like look over. I didn't see Amy too much because like Megan was always blocking me, blocking you from me.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I kind of like lean forward and I look at you. The amount of sweat on your top lips was insane. I was like, is she going to sh her pants right now or something? Because she looks terrible.
SPEAKER_00No, you guys, I was sweating and I was like trying to just like breathe and be like, hey, it's okay. Like, you're okay. It's gonna be fine. Like, you're gonna be.
SPEAKER_01Wait, no. And also, it was after you got up and went to the bathroom and then came back, and I that's when I saw the sweat on your lip. I was like, wow, that must have been a rough trip to the bathroom.
SPEAKER_00No, it was honestly. It was. I was so stressed. Man, I was a little consty, okay. And I go to the bathroom. There's one bathroom.
SPEAKER_01One like for men and women, or just like one stall?
SPEAKER_00No, no, for men and women.
SPEAKER_01You just destroyed it for everybody.
SPEAKER_00No, I couldn't. I couldn't. I was so stressed because there was like a line and I felt like I was taking too long, and I was so stressed, and it was so hot in there. They didn't there's no AC in the bathroom. It was so hot. So when I came back out, I was like, I was sweating from the hotness, sweating from the stress of like everyone being like, that girl tried to go, but she couldn't. And I just was like, guys, we gotta get out of here.
SPEAKER_01Like, so that's so funny. I mean, that is real though. It's like if you're in line and you know you have to go number two, and there's people waiting behind you, just like no, and then it's like, what am I gonna do?
SPEAKER_00Open the door, and they're gonna be like, Whoa. Yeah, like no, I was just like, I I can't do this.
SPEAKER_01So you just didn't work.
SPEAKER_00No, and I already have I even have a hard time going pee in public restrooms. Like, if I can hold it, I will hold it until I get home. And so it just like I already didn't like it, and then I had the stress of like thinking I was gonna pass out, and then everybody in the line, I just was like, no.
SPEAKER_01That is so funny, and so that's why the sweat was still just glazing on the face.
SPEAKER_00I just like genuinely was not well.
SPEAKER_01You were not doing good. That was funny.
SPEAKER_00What is that tapping sound?
SPEAKER_01I don't know.
SPEAKER_00Oh, there was a tapping sound. Okay, never mind. Oh, there it was.
SPEAKER_01That uh I think it's someone doing construction outside.
SPEAKER_00Oh, got it. Um yeah, that day was my least favorite day by far because just the toe, the hotness, the consty, just it was not good.
SPEAKER_01That was funny. That was I'll never forget that face of just pure just defeat. Like sweat, the toe, not be able to go to the bathroom. Yeah, you were in a bad spot.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I like genuinely was not well.
SPEAKER_01Uh that was a good memory. What else happened during that week?
SPEAKER_00Um my what was your favorite day? Well, the day we left.
SPEAKER_01Yes, besides that. No, no, no. Really, though, it was a good time. There was no drama or anything, which was huge for me. And uh as long as this is chill, like it's great.
SPEAKER_00The most drama was when my toe happened. Shannon was like huddled with Zach in the corner, being like, Zach, which ER should we take her to? Oh, yeah. And Zach was like, I don't think you need to take her to the ER for the toe. I was maybe for the sweats, not the toe.
SPEAKER_01I was trying to be as nice as possible, and I just kept pushing it to Megan. I was like, I don't know, I've never been to the ER. So I've only been in the hospital, so maybe have Megan tell you. Because I was just like, I don't think she needs to go to the ER for this, but yeah, Shannon was very concerned that I was like gonna go septic. Yeah, it doesn't happen that quick, so I'll be alright. Um, my favorite though was okay, my dream days in Charlottesville are just going golfing and going fishing. And so there was one day where I got to take the boys golfing and no one wanted to go. Sorry. I think that was the day your dad just went on a drive to like to Shenandoah National Park.
SPEAKER_00Oh my gosh, can we talk about that? I don't blame him. He has like this list on his notes. Oh, he went always, yeah. I think he's now been to every national park. I think that's why he wanted to go so bad.
SPEAKER_01No, no, no. It was states. Actually, he went through the park, but he went all the way to West Virginia because he had never been to West Virginia before. So only yeah, so I think he has like five or six states left to hit, and so he was able to go cross West Virginia off his list. So that's why he did the drive.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And he's always wanted to see like Shenandoah or something, yeah. Which I had never even heard of Shenandoah until he was like, I'm gonna go to Shenandoah, and I was like Which I think he got there maybe and was disappointed with the mountains because you know, coming from Utah to that is a little different, and then he um just kept driving to West Virginia because there was just like one day where he kind of just disappeared for like five hours. Yeah, we were like, Where did he go? And then I looked at his location and he was like two hours away, and I was like, Okay, maybe he like needed to take a break from us.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I don't blame him. Um, but anyway, then that night though, he came back and then we went fishing, and it was fun. That was so fun, but on the way out there, this sense of just not wanting to be there was very strong from you and from Shannon. You guys you had major doubts about going there, and you guys thought it was gonna be so dumb.
SPEAKER_00In our defense, I don't know what we were thinking. I've never been fishing before. That was my first time fishing. Oh, so I was picturing like some back alley swamp. That's what I was picturing. I don't know why. That's just kind of what I picture when I picture fishing, and so I was like, we're gonna go like in a swamp, and I I had to wear open-tote shoes because of my toe.
SPEAKER_01That was before the toe, cutie.
SPEAKER_00Oh well, I was wearing again, I was wearing my Chanel flip-flops.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, why did you wear those? But anyway, yeah, so yeah, Megan was in Chanel slippers, Shannon was in Chanel sneakers, you were in Chanel flip-flops. You guys are really dressed for fishing, but luckily And you know what?
SPEAKER_00We all caught a fish on our own. My and remember when you were teaching me to fish and you were like, Do you want me to cast it out for you? And I was like, No, I'm gonna cast it and I'm gonna learn how to cast it. And then what did I do? I caught a fish. Well, maybe because Chanel flip-flops.
SPEAKER_01A great teacher. You're welcome. Touch me how to do it.
SPEAKER_00You didn't even, you just were like, pull this down, throw it, push it back up.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and then the right speed, how to watch it, make sure it looks like it's swimming. Okay. Without that, you're not catching a fish.
SPEAKER_00No, that is true. You are a good teacher, and you let me like really take over your fishing pole. Yeah, you didn't even catch a fish because I was so determined to catch a fish. I was like, I will stay here until I catch this damn fish.
SPEAKER_01Well, I was making sure everyone else was set up right, and I'm glad I did because everybody caught a fish, which was amazing.
SPEAKER_00Even Megan, that was her first time catching a fish, too. And she was also dead set on catching a fish.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, because we had been like four or five times and she had never caught one. So she was dead set on catching one. Yeah, and it was funny though, because when we first got there, your mom was like, No, Megan, like, I know you really want to catch a fish, so you just fish. Because Shannon thought there was gonna be like one fish in the whole lake.
SPEAKER_00Shannon thought there were like three fish.
SPEAKER_01It was so funny.
SPEAKER_00And then Megan Megan was like, Mom, like you try. And she was like, No, no, like I'll catch a fish too soon. So, like, you you catch your fish first.
SPEAKER_01And we were like the cockiness behind her, too. Of just like, I'm just gonna catch, I'll catch it if I throw it. So, like, well, and you know what?
SPEAKER_00She did.
SPEAKER_01I know.
SPEAKER_00I think she cast it out like twice, and then she caught her fish.
SPEAKER_01Megan got one, Mike got one, you got one, and I was happy.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I think Michael got two.
SPEAKER_01That's true. He did get he did catch two because that's right. He caught the first one, we didn't get the picture, the second one got the picture. Yeah, pretty good. That was a successful fishing day, and yeah, you guys were not hot about going there at all. You guys wanted to be there for like 20 minutes max and get out.
SPEAKER_00But then guess who was the last one in the car? You were yelling across the lake, being like, Come on, sweetie, let's go.
SPEAKER_01Fishing is very like therapeutic. Just like I was just out there and I was like, I'm reeling her in, sweetie, I'm reeling her in.
SPEAKER_00Let me let me catch one more.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I didn't.
SPEAKER_00I was really sad.
SPEAKER_01Well, you know where the best place to go fishing is is in Utah.
SPEAKER_00Oh.
SPEAKER_01Utah has the best places, it's amazing.
SPEAKER_00Where do you go? Like in Utah Lake.
SPEAKER_01Okay, yeah. That's if you want your swampy disaster that you were talking about, go go to Utah Lake.
SPEAKER_00Utah Lake is the nastiest thing I've ever seen.
SPEAKER_01You never fish in Utah Lake.
SPEAKER_00Provo River, are there even fish in there? I feel like they're like riddled with like chemical diseases, like nasty, massive carp.
SPEAKER_01They're disgusting. Like fish you wouldn't even want to touch. Um, but yeah, I grew up every day my junior and senior year, like. The third and fourth term, I would always go to the Provo River and just fish after school.
SPEAKER_00So, did you like because you know how like in fly fishing, you like get in the water? Did you do that? Or are you on the side or are you on like the bridge?
SPEAKER_01I did both. Never never the bridge. I would do fly fishing and just I still go to the river, and you can use like the same poles we were using and just use like a spinner and reel it in, and it works. Um but fly fishing is the most fun. Uh anyway, so enough about fishing.
SPEAKER_00But I was just glad it was a successful trip and everyone had a good time because it was really fun, but we should go fishing in Utah when you're here for like your 48 hours.
SPEAKER_01You would do you'd want to go fishing in Utah?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I thought it was so fun in Virginia. I want to go fishing with the boys again. The boys made it the best part. They were so excited anytime anybody got a fish. They were like genuinely like so proud.
SPEAKER_01That was the best thing, especially for Megan when she first she caught her first fish. They were cheering so loud.
SPEAKER_00It was so yeah, they like ran up and gave a hug and they were like, We're so proud of you, mom. Good job, mama. Who we caught a fish.
SPEAKER_01It was so cute.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, they're so cute. I love them.
SPEAKER_01What else from the trip was stood out? Um, graduation. You guys kept asking me a lot, like, oh, like, how do I feel? Like, am I so proud of myself?
SPEAKER_00We just we really like to dissect, so it's like we wanted to dissect how you were feeling about graduating your 18 years of school.
SPEAKER_01You know, I'm honestly just sad to leave here. I said that. I love Charlottesville, I loved having so much freedom to go and do what I want with the boys, and I know that's about to be gone. And I don't know when I'm ever gonna have that much freedom again in my life. So that's where I'm really sad. School, you know, I just really hope it pays off.
SPEAKER_00It will.
SPEAKER_01That's what I'm hoping for. Um, obviously, I'm happy with the job.
SPEAKER_00And if anything, what you just said paid it off.
SPEAKER_01The time with the boys.
SPEAKER_00Yep. Your freedom, time with the boys, you guys like, I don't know. You guys had a really fun time in Virginia.
SPEAKER_01I agree. And I think sometimes I'm like, do I wish I would have spent more time networking and meeting people outside of class? Because that's where you say you come to business school for. And I don't know, I'm really not good at that. And but sometimes I regret, like, oh, maybe I should have gone and done more things and hung out with people more. But at the same time, I had the best time with Dean and Weston. Just like we would go golfing. Most days we go fishing, especially this last year. We'd go do so many fun things together as a family where it's like, you know, if I didn't meet all these great people, or maybe I wouldn't form as close of relationships, maybe as I could have with some classmates, like that that's okay with me. Like, yeah, I had the best time with Dean and Weston. But yeah. Yeah. So anyway, I'm feeling a little sentimental. Like, I enjoyed, I enjoyed Darden. I enjoyed my time here, but I'm just like losing my freedom to go and do whatever I want. Every day is kind of kind of tough.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you're headed into corporate America.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I gotta watch what I say. You're gonna get me fired.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna write a letter.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I know. Or you're gonna say something crazy on the podcast and they're gonna hear it, and I'm gonna get fired. So you gotta be careful.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_01Anyway.
SPEAKER_00I just like I'm genuinely trying to think of like what we've said.
SPEAKER_01No, I don't think we've never said anything crazy.
SPEAKER_00Other than uh think we're crazy.
SPEAKER_01That's debatable.
SPEAKER_00Well, we're crazy in the sense of like we wear Chanel shoes fishing.
SPEAKER_01That's true. That's true. Um, also, you're crazy in the fact that you just bought a horse.
SPEAKER_00I did. I thought you would never bring it up.
SPEAKER_01The the light that came to your face. You were so bored when I was talking. Like, I looked at you and you're just like, uh, I can't listen to this anymore. But then when I said the horse, oh just the light came in. Please tell us about your new purchase.
SPEAKER_00I bought a horse yesterday. It was very exciting. I made Shannon go with me to IFA. At first, she hated it. She was like, I don't want to go to IFA. And I was like, You're coming to IFA.
SPEAKER_01IFA is a great store.
SPEAKER_00So I was just like off in the horse section, and Shannon was off in the chicken section. She was sending Megan videos of the little chicks because you guys want to get chickens in Texas.
SPEAKER_01Uh, we need to get into that story too, but keep going.
SPEAKER_00And she was sending Dean and Weston pictures and videos of like the motorcycles and like the little tractors that they have that you can ride on. It's just like it's an amazing store. We gotta go. The boys would love it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, IFA's a great store. I agree.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so we went to IFA, then I went and picked up my horse from Heber, and now he's in Provo, and I am like chomping at the bit, pun intended, to go down to my barn to see him.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, she even sent me a text last night saying, Oh, we need to do the podcast at 9 a.m. so I can get down there. I was like, Have you ever even woken up before 9 a.m.? But look at this new excitement.
SPEAKER_00I know, I know. So yeah, I'm just like, I love him. I need a new name for him. I decided I'm not keeping Brazil just because like I don't like it. And it just doesn't roll off the tongue. Like I'm like, with my grain bucket, I'm like, Brazil, come here. It just like it doesn't, it needs to be one syllable. Like, I like how it's Duke, Max, Dash, kitty. I like no, not that. But I just like I just don't know what to name him. I've got to figure it out though. So sound off in the comments what I should name my horse.
SPEAKER_01But isn't that bad luck?
SPEAKER_00Okay, what if we Some people say it is, some people say it's not.
SPEAKER_01But the poor guy, that's what he's known as his whole life. He's what, 15?
SPEAKER_00No, I tested it yesterday. He doesn't even respond to his name.
SPEAKER_01Hmm. Maybe, maybe he's kind of like you. He just chooses to make a ghost when he wants to.
SPEAKER_00Maybe he hates it too, so he's like, I won't respond to that name until I find a name that I like.
SPEAKER_01So you're just gonna keep testing names, keep sh just start shouting names at him until he comes.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no, I don't know. Do you wanna do you wanna hear some of the names that I'm thinking of?
SPEAKER_01Sure.
SPEAKER_00He kind of looks like a moose. I was thinking moose.
SPEAKER_01Okay. It's kind of interesting.
SPEAKER_00But then that kind of doesn't roll off the tongue either.
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_00So honestly, I was thinking Duke. An honor, may he rest in peace. My dog Duke. But then I just don't know if he's a Duke.
SPEAKER_01Because when I see Duke, now I picture of uh your lab.
SPEAKER_00A lab, yeah.
SPEAKER_01And that doesn't mix.
SPEAKER_00Let me go to my lit my list.
SPEAKER_01Wait, I thought you do like Maverick or something like that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, uh, but there are just so many horses named Maverick. What about Thor?
SPEAKER_01I I don't know. I'm just not a big like super heroes. I like Zeus.
SPEAKER_00Ace.
SPEAKER_01Ace is Ace is my my pick.
SPEAKER_00You like Ace?
SPEAKER_01Yep.
SPEAKER_00Chief.
SPEAKER_01He looks like an ace to me.
SPEAKER_00Gunner, Gus, Moose. Duke. Goose.
SPEAKER_01Maybe I should name my next boy Ace.
SPEAKER_00You could. Megan will never go for that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I know.
SPEAKER_00And it doesn't flow with Dean and Weston.
SPEAKER_01Dean Dean West and Ace.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's like you have like two country clubbers, Dean and Weston. And then Ace.
SPEAKER_01Are those really country club names? Dean and Weston?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, they're more like preppy traditional, wouldn't you say?
SPEAKER_01I don't know. I never really thought about it.
SPEAKER_00You guys are country clubbers.
SPEAKER_01I wish.
SPEAKER_00You guys are like the snooty, polo wearing country clubbers who like to go golfing and fishing.
SPEAKER_01Just because I like to golf doesn't mean I'm a snooty country clubber.
SPEAKER_00No, you're not snooty, but country clubs do have like a rep of like being snooty.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I know. I know. I just love to golf. And I I really want my boys to golf. But anyway, back to your horse name. What are you gonna do? Right now, you have to make a decision. Give us the name.
SPEAKER_00If I had to make a decision, like now, gun to my head, I would die. Because like I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Gun to my head. I really don't know. You can't just say one name.
SPEAKER_00There's just nothing that I'm like, that's it, you know?
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00Well I don't know. I'm thinking maybe maybe just say chat.
SPEAKER_01Give me my name for my horse and take that one.
SPEAKER_00Chat is the worst at giving names. It's so cheesy.
SPEAKER_01Well, tell it that.
SPEAKER_00I did, and it's like, okay, sorry, here's a new list. And I'm like, no, those suck too.
SPEAKER_01Okay, well, you know what? You figured out your horse on your own time then.
SPEAKER_00I think I'm leaning towards ace or what were the other ones?
SPEAKER_01Oh my gosh. Obviously, not very memorable if you can't think of it right now.
SPEAKER_00I like Ace, Thor, Zeus, Gus.
SPEAKER_01The entire list, thank you.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01You already read it. Gosh. You just literally pulled it up and said, Yeah, I think you know what? I really like, and then read the whole list again.
SPEAKER_00No, I only read like four names. You were looking going. I don't know. I don't know. Uh I made this little friend yesterday at the barn. She was the cutest little girl. She's six years old. She just followed me around for like an hour or two. And she was just yapping my ear off. I loved it. She was giving me all the barn tea. There was some drama yesterday. She was filling me in on all the drama. Then I was talking to her mom. Turns out she went to high school with Taylor and Drew. So we made that connection. But I was asking her, like, what should I name my horse? And she was like, because I told her his name was Brazil. And she was like, Yeah. And I was like, yeah. Um, and she was like, I think you should name him Brownie. And I was like, Yeah. That's a really good name.
SPEAKER_01Jerk. You're just so mean to the poor little six-year-old.
SPEAKER_00But I don't think I wasn't mean. What?
SPEAKER_01You versus six-year-old barrel racing. Who would win?
SPEAKER_00Uh probably her. She's been riding longer than I have, so uh, we need to pick up the speed there. I know. That's that's why I have blank, my new horse, yet to be determined, his name. I just I just need to start building my confidence on him and going faster. I just like gotta send her. I just like need to find like an open field and like not because I I'm mostly worried about the turns. I think that's why I'm so scared. But I just like gotta start running.
SPEAKER_01So I agree.
SPEAKER_00We're gonna do that.
SPEAKER_01I agree. Um what was the other story we're gonna tell? Oh yeah. Last week was um or was that this week? This was was that Monday when we went to the VR?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it was Monday.
SPEAKER_01Oh my um, how does this relate?
SPEAKER_00Because we just brought that up, but oh, because I was talking about the chickens at IFA.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yes. So Megan is very determined to buy chickens, and I don't think she's prepared for how much work they are, especially if I'm not gonna be around to do much of it all the time. Um, but she really wants chickens to eat ticks.
SPEAKER_00This is the thing that I'll say. I'm gonna interrupt you really fast.
SPEAKER_01Please.
SPEAKER_00Just like you just said how therapeutic fishing is, it sounds kind of gross, but honestly, like taking care of animals, maybe it's different for her because like she has children that she can take care of, and like that's therapeutic for her. But it's very therapeutic. Like yesterday I didn't come home until like 7 p.m. Cause I was just like hanging out in the stall. I was cleaning out his stall, cleaning out his water bucket, feeding him. Like doing all of that is at least for me, it's therapeutic. So maybe for Megan, like while the boys are at school, yeah, it'll be therapeutic for her.
SPEAKER_01Maybe. I um, but it's just like then she's also gonna have more kids, and so like a baby, and then also trying to do that, that's gonna be a lot.
SPEAKER_00Well, but by then Dean will be old enough that she'll be like, Dean, get out there, go muck the chicken stalls. Which I don't even think chicken stalls need to be mucked, do they?
SPEAKER_01I don't even know what mucked means.
SPEAKER_00Like mucking out a stall is when you clean out their shit from the stall and put down new shavings if you need it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you do. I think you do like once a week or once every couple weeks.
SPEAKER_00Um you only do it once a week? Well, I guess they're they're isn't as big as a horse.
SPEAKER_01I was reading on it. I think it's every once a week that you really need to go clean it out.
SPEAKER_00That's not bad then. That's a Saturday chore for the boys.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that sounds great. But then there's like, what if you leave and you go out of town, then you have to have someone come get the chicken, I mean get the eggs every day and everything else. Like, it's just a lot. But anyway, so Megan really wants them though, because they eat, according to her, 300 ticks an hour per chicken. That's a lot of ticks.
SPEAKER_00Um that's a lot of ticks.
SPEAKER_01Anyway, so on Monday, we went bike riding at a field near here, and Dean, I think he went up into some bushes, but then he also climbed a tree.
SPEAKER_00He loves to climb trees and like get in the dirt, and like he's just a boy.
SPEAKER_01Yes, he's a very just loves to do anything to get dirty. Um, so he climbs up in a tree, and then we come home, and he was changing into a swimsuit, discovers a tick. He finds the tick in. The thing was so small, it was insane.
SPEAKER_00So small. I thought it was like a crumb. I like wanted to like brush it off and be like, oh, that's just a crumb from like your goldfish or something.
SPEAKER_01Insane. And I'm glad he found it, and obviously caused a lot of stress because Megan's also been stressed about ticks recently just because of all the news and well, and especially like where like you guys live, like the east.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, there's a lot of ticks, and then yeah, a lot of ticks here.
SPEAKER_01So then we end up going, we able to I pulled it out and I screwed it up. I did not get the head out. But there was and no blood came out, except I think it'd barely been in, which was good. And like the butt wasn't big, so supposedly if the butt gets really big and full of blood when it's been in there for a while. Um, so I think it just barely got in that day, and then I pulled it out. Freaking, I used tweezers. I guess you're supposed to put like alcohol on it or like put Vaseline around it so it suffocates and pulls its way out. That's what I should have done. Oh, my mom told me that after I should have called her before. So anyway, I pulled tweezers, and that thing was like so stuck in there, it was insane. I was pulling hard and it got anyway, finally come out, but head was left in. So we put in a bag, took him to the ER, they gave him some medicine, and then the lady tried to get it out. She couldn't get out the head. So, anyway, that caused Megan to be very stressed. Now she really wants a chicken coop. So if anyone has a chicken coop, tell us what you think. Like, is it worth it? Would you do it again? Is it too much work? Because we really don't know.
SPEAKER_00Sound off in the comments.
SPEAKER_01I hate it when you say sound off the comments. Oh, sorry. What do you want me to say? Let us know. I'm just kidding.
SPEAKER_00LMK on the chickens.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so that's that was the big drama this week. And supposedly we're gonna be getting some chickens in Texas. But we're gonna go visit some people's houses. I know a couple people that have chickens, and we're gonna go see what it's really like and have them kind of give us their perspective. But anyway, that wasn't the most interesting story, but that was a good one.
SPEAKER_00You know who she should talk to is our aunt in Colorado. She had a lot of chickens, like a lot.
SPEAKER_01Well, maybe she should. And you tell her that. So But we only want like four chickens, you know, four or five, four, four little hens, a little chicken coop. I think I want to be too bad.
SPEAKER_00You know what you should do?
SPEAKER_01What?
SPEAKER_00You should get like what you just said, like three or four hens. Then you should get a rooster, and then you should have the rooster and the hen. I don't know like how they do it, but have the rooster fertilize the hen's eggs and then have baby chicks.
SPEAKER_01No, thank you.
SPEAKER_00That would be so cute though.
SPEAKER_01No, no, no. You don't want more, I don't want more, and also roosters can be mean. No, no, very mean.
SPEAKER_00You just bring in the rooster to fertilize the egg and then you take it back to where it came from. I don't know.
SPEAKER_01But why do I want more?
SPEAKER_00Maybe one of your neighbors has a rooster.
SPEAKER_01What am I gonna do with more chickens? That means I need a bigger coop.
SPEAKER_00They could have babies and it could be so cute.
SPEAKER_01Okay, yeah. Not gonna happen. Not gonna happen. Let's just hope we could handle four, which I'm not even sure we can. Um also, one thing from the trip though, was every time you at the dinner table or whenever we go eat, you always have a list of questions. Like, where did that come from?
SPEAKER_00I just I love I love a dinner time game.
SPEAKER_01Was it just because you feared we would have nothing to talk about?
SPEAKER_00Or like no, no, I knew okay. Do you know us? We could talk to a brick wall.
SPEAKER_01That's true, that's true.
SPEAKER_00And we could sit there and talk to that brick wall and bring up old horses and beat them. You know, I really don't I really don't like that saying, like beating a dead horse.
SPEAKER_01Like you love to say it though. You say it a lot.
SPEAKER_00Well, it's just like what else? Like, what other analogy or metaphor is there?
SPEAKER_01Um, I don't know, but you love to say it. So, anyway, though, I decided I would bring some of those same type of questions today.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_01To have you answer.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, okay, go.
SPEAKER_01So, like these questions were a lot of, oh, if you could like go travel to one place, where would it be?
SPEAKER_00Or No, that was your question. My question was who here at the table do you trust the least?
unknownOh, yeah.
SPEAKER_01You were asking some crazy ones, and it was like, what am I supposed to say?
SPEAKER_00Which is so rude. You all said me. So rude. That was such a scapegoat answer.
SPEAKER_01Are you kidding me? I'm gonna say, okay, the and the possibilities are my own kids, my wife, or my my uh mother-in-law and my father-in-law, and then you. Yeah, of course I'm gonna pick you.
SPEAKER_00Scapegoat.
SPEAKER_01Okay, say okay, say we're all sitting at the dinner table, the whole entire family. You have to answer that question. Who you who are you saying? Who you trust the least. Yep.
SPEAKER_00Probably.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Timer's out. You gotta answer. Exactly.
SPEAKER_00I trust everyone.
SPEAKER_01Scapegoat answer. Oh, you have to answer it. You can't just say everybody.
SPEAKER_00Okay, probably Rachel because she doesn't answer her phone. She doesn't answer her calls and she won't text you back. So probably her.
SPEAKER_01Whoa. Before any of the brother-in-laws. I thought it was for sure gonna be one of the brother-in-laws.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I wasn't thinking of the brother-in-laws. I was just thinking of like the OGs.
SPEAKER_01You freaking idiot. I said the entire family, and you thought I know, I just thought of like my family. Honestly, that explains so much of like how you guys operate. It's like it's insane.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Honestly, what Some of the reasons why Megan and I are battling right now.
SPEAKER_00Why?
SPEAKER_01Because it feels like she's building a house with you guys. Not me. It pisses me off.
SPEAKER_00Because you always are like, I don't know, do whatever you want.
SPEAKER_01Because I want Megan to decide what she wants, not what you or anyone else wants. What she wants.
SPEAKER_00No, I know. I know. And I tell her that. I say, I know deep down you like one more than the other. So do which one you like more. But she she likes to get everybody's opinions.
SPEAKER_01She, yeah, she really wants the validation from everybody.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So anyway, um, you went. I guess you went with Rachel. So that's good. That was a good answer.
SPEAKER_00Um just because she doesn't answer her phone. And she doesn't really ever like leave her little bubble.
SPEAKER_01Sure, we'll we'll say that. We'll say that's the reason.
SPEAKER_00I mean, you want to know who my emergency contacts are?
SPEAKER_01Who?
SPEAKER_00Emily, Michael, and Shannon. Because I know they're always gonna answer their phones.
SPEAKER_01That's true. That is true. So um, okay. My questions though were more like, would you rather? type of hypotheticals.
SPEAKER_00I had a would you rather, remember?
SPEAKER_01What was it?
SPEAKER_00I said, would you rather have your spouse cheat on you and no one knows?
unknownOh yeah.
SPEAKER_00Or would you rather everybody in the entire world, like with their entire beings, think that your spouse cheated on you, but he actually didn't. But everybody around you is like, he's a cheater, he cheated on you.
SPEAKER_01But you know for a fact.
SPEAKER_00But you yourself and your husband know that he did not cheat, but everybody else is like, that guy's a cheater. So like your reputation is like that guy's a cheater. He's a slime ball, he's a cheater.
SPEAKER_01For me, it's not even a question. Like, I'd much rather not know that my wife did not cheat than her. She did cheat and no one know. Like, that is Yeah. Anyway, my would you rathers. Would you rather know exactly okay? This is kind of lame. Know exactly when you'll die or know how you'll die.
SPEAKER_00Uh, neither. I don't want to know. I I wanna be blissfully naive.
SPEAKER_01Bliss okay, no, no, you gotta pick one. Would you rather know how or when?
SPEAKER_00I I can't know either because I would just like hyperfixate on it.
SPEAKER_01I think I don't know exactly when. For sure. Because if it's if it's how, then I'm always gonna be searching.
SPEAKER_00But then it's like there's like this looming like countdown, like okay, but then you can go four days.
SPEAKER_01But then you can go and like live just such a fun life, just knowing like I got until this day.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah. I guess I would rather know when than how. Because if it's like, oh, you're gonna die in a car accident, then I would never get in a car again.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. And that would suck because you don't know when that car accidents can actually happen.
SPEAKER_00Exactly.
SPEAKER_01Okay, next one. You're not married, but let's pretend you are. Would you rather have to live with your in-laws for a year or live in an RV with just your immediate family for a year?
SPEAKER_00Well, how how big is the house? Like, do I like is it like Michael and Shannon's where like you'd have the basement all to yourself? Uh, yeah, I'd live with in-laws.
SPEAKER_01Rather than an RV.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I mean, but that's easy for me to say because like I don't actually have in-laws. What would you rather do?
SPEAKER_01An RV can be tough. RV's small for a full year.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01With two little boys running crazy around there. But I I don't know. It's not like I don't love my in-laws. I just like to have my own space. You know?
SPEAKER_00What are you talking about? We give you your own space. Just kidding. We don't even know what that word is. Like boundaries in space and leaving people alone. We don't know what that is.
SPEAKER_01Um, I think I would do the own RB.
SPEAKER_00Rude.
SPEAKER_01It's not meant to be rude. It's just it's the way I am. Yeah. Um, alright. Do we like these would you rathers? We should skip the rest.
SPEAKER_00Um, I just feel like your would you rathers like aren't like fun.
SPEAKER_01Like, give me okay, give me some of yours then. Give me some of your questions that you had.
SPEAKER_00I will.
SPEAKER_01Because yours are more like uh mean. Not mean, but like you have to be a little mean.
SPEAKER_00It's just like hold on.
SPEAKER_01Who are you texting? Chat?
SPEAKER_00Chat.
SPEAKER_01I was trying to teach Shannon how to use chat while she was here.
SPEAKER_00That's trying to teach Shannon and Michael anything to do with technology is just like Yeah.
SPEAKER_01What do we got?
SPEAKER_00Okay, what's the most insane thing you've done because you liked somebody?
SPEAKER_01Um that is a weird question to ask. Uh I don't know. That's a tough one. I haven't like thought about that stuff.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's true.
SPEAKER_01You know what I mean? Like, that's that's like thinking back to like dating times. What's the weird what's the craziest thing you've done? This may be a better question for you.
SPEAKER_00The craziest thing I have done, okay.
SPEAKER_01Took someone to Italy on like the third second week of dating them.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that was so fucking stupid. Ugh. Anyway, we're not getting into that.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00Um, the craziest thing I have done. Okay, so this is like just like one little thing about me. And if you're like a single boy who is like interested in me, maybe don't listen to this part. Um I get tunnel vision when I like a boy. And I don't, I'm not the kind of girl that can like play the field and like go out with multiple people. If I really, really like somebody, I'm just like kind of like honed in tunnel vision on that person. And then I like low-key become like a little bit obsessed. Um, this was more like when I was like 18, 19, 2021, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26. No, I'm just kidding. No, I'm just kidding. I don't do this anymore. I've like totally matured and grown up. Um, but when I had Snapchat when I was like 20, I would track their snap score. Cause every time you send and receive a snap, it goes up. And like if they weren't snapping me back, but their snap score was going up, I was trying to figure out who they were snapping. Or one time me and my friends, um we were like the biggest stalkers. I always knew where they were, and like I would either like go like sit outside their house or like find what restaurant they're at, and I would like go see them at the restaurant.
SPEAKER_01Like what? This is insane. Maybe we should cut this out because you I mean, do a lot of girls do this? Like, yes, that's insane. I would have never even thought about doing that.
SPEAKER_00And that's the difference between guys and girls. It's like we are like, they're not texting us back. I wonder what they're doing. So we're gonna get to the bottom of what they're doing. And then it's like, oh, they're just at dinner with their guy friends, like, no big deal. Or one time I found out he was on a date with a girl that I knew, and all of my friends knew and didn't tell me.
SPEAKER_03Oof. Oof.
SPEAKER_00So it's like you can get some good info.
SPEAKER_01But like, sometimes you don't want to get the info, you know?
SPEAKER_00No, sometimes you do because you're it's like you're like, I'm not gonna keep wasting my time with this person if they're on a date with somebody else.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's fair. But okay, so you were tracking snap scores, showing up at random places to make sure they just see you.
SPEAKER_00No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. It was always incognito. I'm like a spy. Or it's like you you memorize like the last three letters or number of their license plate. So if you see a car that looks like theirs, you either know it's theirs or you're like, oh, that's just a look-alike. But it kind of like gives you like a pit in your stomach if you see their car and you're like, is that them?
SPEAKER_01Like, should we keep going? Does this list keep going of like crazy stalker things that girls do? That's insane. Like, wow, okay. I was just hoping a girl would text me back. Like, that was all I was ever hoping. And you're over here, little dino, just analyzing Snapchat scores, knowing where people are, knowing people's license plate numbers, tracking them on SnapMap.
SPEAKER_00Like 90% of the time, if girls and the majority of them are single, or no, they don't even have to be single. Like dating somebody in a situation ship, whatever, if they're having a girls' night, 90% of the time they're doing something stalkerish. That's just the way girls roll.
SPEAKER_01Well, maybe if you had taken that amount of brain power and put it into school, you could have been getting like straight A's in college.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but I didn't want to go to college, so I mean you could have been an investigator, but like I don't do that now. Okay, because I don't, I don't, no, I really don't. I don't have Snapchat anymore. And it's just or boyfriend. It's too much time and energy. It's like I don't even care. Like, if they don't text me back, then they're loss by I'm not like sitting here being like, Why aren't they texting me back? Like, yes. I'm like, uh, okay, moving on to the next.
SPEAKER_01I like that a lot better. That is that's a lot better. Okay.
SPEAKER_00That was that time was like really fun. Like, me and my friends had a blast stalking people.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's kind of wild. I didn't know it was that like deep with girls and stalking.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we would go on stakeouts and we would like stop at the gas station and like get some snacks and just like go on stakeouts. We would like make the rounds, we'd like go visit that person, then we'd be like, Okay, who are you into? Let's go find where they're at, and then yeah, we'd we'd make the rounds.
SPEAKER_01All right. I think you guys might get arrested from this podcast.
SPEAKER_00No, statute of limitations. This is like 10 years ago.
SPEAKER_01This is pure evidence right here. Whatever. All right, next question. You got another one?
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah. Let me look at my list. Um what do you think your most toxic trait was in dating Megan?
SPEAKER_01My most toxic trait in dating Megan?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Um I think I was a little what's the right word? Not like maybe a little obsessive, a little not like maybe.
SPEAKER_00Were you a stalker?
SPEAKER_01No, no, no. It was more like um constantly worried that like she wasn't actually like serious about it. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_00Because like oh, because you guys got married in two days, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yes, and also because we both had just coming off breaking up from uh being engaged.
SPEAKER_00Engagements, yeah.
SPEAKER_01And so I was like always worrying, like, oh, when is this going to be just the same result? Because we both just broke off engagements, and so it's like we don't maybe view the engagements as serious as what we thought. I mean, maybe as like what I was hoping.
SPEAKER_00So I was always just like maybe always like kind of waiting for the other shoe to drop.
SPEAKER_01Yes, exactly. And so I think I probably asked her. I don't think I was like too annoying about asking about it, but I was always like, Oh, are you sure?
SPEAKER_00Like, you know, like were you like a needy, like reassurance? Like, do you like me? Do you promise that you like me?
SPEAKER_01I don't think I was that bad. No. I mean, I needed a little reassurance because we were getting married.
SPEAKER_00Oh, that's too good. One time a guy asked me for reassurance and I got the ick, and I was like, I actually don't like you.
SPEAKER_01You what doesn't give you the ick? Like, truly.
SPEAKER_00No, I remember coming home and Shannon was in the kitchen, like waiting for me. And she was like, How did it go? And I was like, it was like so weird. Like he was like so like needy and like wanted to know if I liked him and like wanted to talk about his feelings, and like, and I was just like, ew. And Shannon was like, Well, were you mean? And I was like, No, I wasn't mean, but like he just like kept like going on about his feelings, and then he'd be like, Okay, how do you feel? And I was always like, I don't know, good.
SPEAKER_01You can speak to a brick wall, but you can also go be a brick wall.
SPEAKER_00Like, yeah.
SPEAKER_01And okay, no, it wasn't like I was like, Oh, like, do you like me back? None of that. It was always just like, like, are you sure? Like, are you good? Like, we're we're going too fast, like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00No, I get that. I get that type of reassurance.
SPEAKER_01I'm never like, oh, do you like me back?
SPEAKER_00Like, I wasn't, I was never like Pinky promise that you like me.
SPEAKER_01Do you actually like me or like do you like me a lot? Like, out of ten, how much?
SPEAKER_00On a scale of one to ten. You know who my sisters love to ask that question. They call it the like love scale. Love is ten.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00Really like is like above a five. You like somebody, like you want to date them five.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_00So they're when I like go on a date with somebody, they're like, hey, where are you at on the scale?
SPEAKER_01Oh my gosh. And all right. I actually never heard that before.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. It's a Emily and Rachel asked me that. I don't know if Megan's ever asked me that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Mostly, mostly Rachel. Rachel's always like, Where are you at on the scale? Yeah. Okay, next one. Okay. Um, have you ever looked through someone's phone?
SPEAKER_01Like besides Megan's?
SPEAKER_00Like when you and Megan were dating, were you ever like, I'm gonna snoop through her phone? Or like your ex, were you ever like I'm gonna look through her phone? I'm worried she's like being sketch.
SPEAKER_01No, I don't think I've ever snooped someone through someone's phone. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I've never snooped, I've never snooped through like um like a partner or like a situation ship's phone. Um what?
SPEAKER_01Nothing, keep going.
SPEAKER_00Well, I didn't want to say like boyfriend.
SPEAKER_01Okay, all right.
SPEAKER_00But I've never snooped through a boyfriend's phone situationship, anyone that I'm talking to. But one time, kind of going back to my like spy stalker-ish ways, um, this guy that I had been in like a six-month situationship with, we drove to Park City with like a group of our friends. It was kind of like a big like group date. And he was driving. I was in the back of the car, like I was directly behind him, and it was night when we were driving home, and he was on his phone at like a stoplight, and I could see it through the reflection of the glass, and that's how I figured out he was texting his ex.
SPEAKER_01You're a freak.
SPEAKER_00They were sending, they were sending each other like really like emotional songs, and I would I like looked up one of the songs and I was like, ew, like it gave me the ick. I was like, this is what like he's texting her, like I'm sick, like it's so sickening and embarrassing, like honestly. Like, honestly, and he he was like 27 years old at the time.
SPEAKER_01I truly wonder who you're gonna end up with. You need someone that's just never gonna talk about the feelings.
SPEAKER_00No, I can talk about my feelings, I just have a hard time.
SPEAKER_01But he can't do it too early, else you will get it. It's so fast.
SPEAKER_00Well, and the other thing is a part of it is like I don't know how I feel. So like don't ask me that. Because like I'm still trying to figure it out, so like don't ask me.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so maybe that's your problem, is you need to like be okay with figuring it out.
SPEAKER_00I'm trying to figure it out.
SPEAKER_01So why can't he ask?
SPEAKER_00And you guys can Well, because then he doesn't like my answer. Where I'm like, I don't, I don't know, like I'm still like trying to figure it out. And then they're like, well, why don't you love me? And I'm like, because it's been like only like a little bit of time, sweetie.
SPEAKER_01Okay, okay. Anyway, you know what that just reminded me though of going like your friend's phone. I've never I don't think I've I don't think I've stooped through someone's phone, but it reminded me of a prank that I pulled, and I always I still feel bad for this for one of my friends. We were in uh high school, and this was with one of my best friends, okay? So it was a dude, I wasn't a girl. I got um a fake phone number. I don't know if you ever did this back in high school. This was when like you could get a fake phone number and start to prank people. And so I got a fake number from my phone, and we were on a basketball trip. I can't, I think we were in like Denver, Colorado or whatever. And um, so the whole team knows about it except him. And so I text him and I'm pretending to be this girl at school. She's like gosh, you were catfishing him, the hottest girl at school, and I start pretending like like sorry, talking to him, and I keep it going for like a week. Oh day, just like texting him all day, and I'd be like sitting next to him and uh like at dinner, and then I'd just like lean over and like text him, and then he'd get it, and he'd like show me the text, be like, dude, like look what she said, and I'd be like, What were you saying?
SPEAKER_00Were you like I was playing hot?
SPEAKER_01I I mean a little bit, but I wasn't like being too obvious, you know. And then I told him, and I it like truly, like I could tell he was about to cry.
SPEAKER_00Was he like well, first of all, yeah, that's like devastating.
SPEAKER_01I was pretty mean. That was a pretty mean thing to do.
SPEAKER_00Were you like, sorry, dude? I thought it would be funny, yeah.
SPEAKER_01But like the whole team knew, so everyone was laughing and like laughing at him.
SPEAKER_00Side.
SPEAKER_01It was a mean one. Honestly, it made me feel pretty bad. I don't think our relationship is ever the same either. But anyway, sorry, that was a random story.
SPEAKER_00Um that's funny though.
SPEAKER_01It was pretty mean. I feel like that's something you would do.
SPEAKER_00No, see, me and my friends were just like truly like 12-year-olds, and we would get the fake numbers and just like prank call people.
SPEAKER_03Uh uh.
SPEAKER_00And be like.
SPEAKER_01Well, I think we can move on from these ones. The hypotheticals.
SPEAKER_00Okay, move on.
SPEAKER_01I mean, unless you want to keep going. Sorry, I I kind of was like just moved on.
SPEAKER_00No, no, yeah, that transition sucked, but yeah, let's move on.
SPEAKER_01That transition did suck. Um, I think we're getting a little slow here. So, someone though did write in for the judge and jury segment.
SPEAKER_00Ooh, love.
SPEAKER_01And actually we have two. And this one I haven't even read yet. We just barely got it. So this says, I'm 22 dating a guy who's 23. Both LDS, he's from a wealthy, affluent family, and my family is not. We really like each other, but will this cause issues ahead? For instance, going out for nice dinners, our weekly current occurrence at his home. For us, it's a treat for a birthday, etc. I'm not embarrassed by it, but do you think his family will be okay with that? This is a good question.
SPEAKER_00I don't understand. Like, is his family gonna be okay with the fact that her family doesn't go to dinner once a week?
SPEAKER_01No, it's basically she's asking how she's dating a rich guy in a rich family and her family's not. And like, is his family going to be okay? Or like his family. Is the rich family gonna be okay with the family that's not? Like, that's basically what the question is. And like their lifestyle versus her family's lifestyle.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, unless they're like truly like complete elitist assholes, they're gonna be okay with it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I I feel like I don't know though. So this is my thing. I could see issues where if the family has like they're super elitist, are they doing a lot of fun things? And then the other family doesn't, well, like fun things in their eyes. Are they gonna like try and keep like pulling the daughter away to go like do all these fun things because they think the rich family or they think they're having more fun than her family, so they're like, oh, we need to take her to go do these fun things because her family can't afford to do them. You know what I mean? And so it's like I think the like if I was in the other family's shoes, I'd be like, oh, like they're just gonna try and take my daughter to go do these things that I can't afford to do, and so they're gonna try and pull her away from us, type of thing. That's what I think she's kind of asking.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and see, I just like I don't maybe I just like truly am naive. I just don't see that. I can see like, oh, we go on this vacation every year, or this is a tradition. Like, I I don't have an issue with that, or I don't see how her family would have an issue with that unless it's like constant, nonstop, like they're always with them and never with her family. But as a girl, I just I kind of feel like you just naturally go a little bit more with the girls' family. Would you agree with that?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I mean it's not always the case, but kind of. I think that's I think you say that though, because you come from a house of all girls.
SPEAKER_00Exactly. So I feel like too, the girl will be like maybe aware, and it already kind of sounds like she is already aware of it or is kind of like not projecting, but maybe like a preconceived notion. So maybe she can just like be aware of it and be like, okay, well, if we're gonna go do this with your family, then like we need to go spend time with my family. And it doesn't need to be like this big extravagant thing. You could just go hang out and just spend time together.
SPEAKER_01I think so. From my perspective, and I will give this so this is from like actually where I I've felt like this too before, exactly like her. Because I would say your family's lifestyle is much different than my family. It's not like my family's not like my dad's been successful, done good things, but definitely live very different of like what you all like to do and what I did growing up. And I think at the beginning I was a little worried about that too, especially when we started having kids. It was like, oh, like the gift giving or the things that we're gonna go do like on trips and stuff, is not gonna be the same on both sides as far as like experience or the things that are being given. Um, but what I've kind of learned and seen is just like it's it's not about like the the things, it's just like the love that you feel from both sides, and it's just people express love in different ways. And so if that's like the way that his family expresses love is for each other, is by going on the family dinners and doing that with each other, like that's fine, and that's great for them, and go be happy doing that, but also on your side, you don't need to compare, like it's just different, like don't compare the way you're doing things because your families are different, and your your families are never gonna be the same. And so, like, like my family, like there's certain things that were different with your family, with Megan's family, and like that's fine, like it doesn't matter, and it's just it gets it gets bad or it gets weird is when you start just like trying to compare the two families and trying to make them be like the same when they're they're not, and so I think in her situation, it's just it no one's gonna care and don't and don't make a big deal about things, I think. I think it gets if you like come back to your family like, oh, we went to these super nice restaurants and like did all these crazy things, they're gonna be like, Oh, like, are you so you're saying you're having more fun with them, or you like don't like doing what we're doing as much anymore? So I just I don't know. That's kind of how I would go about it. But what do you think?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, don't compare families. Every family is different, like the things that like you would consider like our traditions now, we were not doing when I was even like eight years ago, like we didn't start going to Hawaii every year until like three years ago. And we kind of like hijacked Emily and Rachel's tradition. They used to go every year with their group of friends, and then me and my mom and dad got FOMO, and we were like, let's go as a family. So, and that didn't start happening until like three years ago. So every family's different, everybody's traditions or what they like to do are different and they can change over time. And what? I don't know, I feel like my camera's being weird. Do you see how it like went really dark for a second?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's a little darker.
SPEAKER_00It keeps like flashing.
SPEAKER_02I don't know.
SPEAKER_00Anyway. Um and yeah, don't like be like, don't become like Braddy and Snooty and being like, oh, we can't go to your house because we're gonna go to Roose Chris instead.
SPEAKER_01It's like Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_00Just like be normal.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Be normal, don't make it weird. That's like all I have to say. Like it's really not that deep. Be normal.
SPEAKER_01When you start acting snooty or acting like I don't know, yeah, like if you go to your family's and you're like, oh, we're so much better than you.
SPEAKER_00It's like, yeah, they're not gonna like the your in-laws. So don't do that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, like it's about how you spend time with the family. And so if you're doing the same things always done with your parents, like who cares what you're eating or whatever it is, just like have fun and be and be good with it. Um I agree. So yeah, I don't think it's that deep. I think she's making a little too big a deal with that one. That's my verdict.
SPEAKER_00But yeah, I agree.
SPEAKER_01All right, last one. Your sister, wait, wait, what is this? One second. So this one they wrote it. Oh, this is why they wrote it kind of weird. They wrote it as like uh putting us in in the shoes here. So like they're saying your sister-in-law is RSVP. So anyway, they said your sister is RS sister-in-law RSVPs, yes to your destination wedding eight months out. Then three weeks before the wedding, can uh the wedding cancels because her dog is sick. Wait, hold on. I need to reread this. Your sister-in-law's RS what the heck? Your sister-in-law RSVPs, yes to your destination wedding eight months out, then three weeks before the wedding cancels because her dog is sick. You've already paid for her flight, hotel, and welcome dinner, which is about $2,400, and she refuses to reimburse you, saying you would have spent it anyway. Who is right? This is stupid to me.
SPEAKER_00Is that even a question?
SPEAKER_01Well, okay, actually, what would you say?
SPEAKER_00The bride is right.
SPEAKER_01So they need she paid the $2,400.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, she canceled three weeks out.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And it's it's a dog. Like, take it to the vet. A lot of vets have a boarding facility. You can board the dog for a week and it'll be at the vet, so it's getting great care if it's that sick. Um that's true. Like, I just unless it's like a child. Like, sorry, I know people are like, my dog is my baby. No. Don't compare, don't compare a dog to a human child, first of all.
SPEAKER_01And second-to-key. You're gonna get like people are not gonna like that.
SPEAKER_00Well, I'm sorry. It's like one is an animal and one is a human child. Let's keep it in perspective.
SPEAKER_02Fair.
SPEAKER_00Um, you can drop it off at the vet, you can leave it with a trusted family friend. Like, you have a lot of options.
SPEAKER_01I would agree.
SPEAKER_00I think she just like maybe A doesn't want to go. Or B, I don't know what B would be, but I think this chick either has like gotta pay the 2400. I think that's messed up, especially it would be one thing if it was like three months out, then I'd be like, okay.
SPEAKER_01You could bring someone else to take her spot or something like that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but three weeks, that's that's a little late.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. But if it's a destination wedding, do you think you could bring someone else to take her spot and just like switch things around?
SPEAKER_00And she said it's her sister-in-law. So, like, is she not in the wedding? Is she like she's not gonna be in the pictures? And is the husband gonna go?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, there's feels like a little something more behind this of why she's not going.
SPEAKER_00Either she just like doesn't like this girl and she doesn't want to be a part of the wedding, and she's using her sick dog as an excuse, or I don't know, because it sounds like she doesn't even have to pay what she maybe has to pay for a flight and a hotel, but didn't you say she paid $2,400? That's a lot of money.
SPEAKER_01She paid flight, hotel, and the dinner.
SPEAKER_00So she paid for she doesn't even have to pay for anything. What the heck is she this girl complaining about? She's pretty much getting a free vacation.
SPEAKER_01I agree. But if I was the lady, the person in the wedding, like this is my wedding, I'd be like, all right, fine, and I'd probably try and substitute her out. Like that's why.
SPEAKER_00Then that's your sister-in-law.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I'd be eating like if it was you, I'd happily substitute you out quickly. Super fast. We got you covered.
SPEAKER_00If it was just like a friend, just like a random guest, maybe not in the wedding party, whatever, it'd be like, okay, is that annoying? Yeah, but like, whatever. But it's your sister-in-law. Like, wouldn't you want all your sister-in-laws there?
SPEAKER_01No, absolutely not. That is an easy question.
SPEAKER_00Whatever.
SPEAKER_01Um anyway, but yeah, I agree. It's a lot of money. And just to like cancel three weeks ahead, and it's also rude. Like, how long is the dog gonna be sick for? This is three weeks ago.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, like surely it will be better by the time you gotta go. That's what I'm saying. She's just using it as an excuse. There's something deeper. I usually say it's not that deep. This is deeper.
SPEAKER_01Also, no, we didn't talk about speaking of the phrase it's not that deep. I got you the best gift ever while you were here.
SPEAKER_00Oh, you did. I forgot about that. That was really nice, and I actually love it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you're welcome. Yeah, I thought about that. Or did that all on my own, all set up by myself, not even help from Megan. She didn't even know.
SPEAKER_00So look at you.
SPEAKER_01I am a very thoughtful person in case you didn't know.
SPEAKER_00I mean, I didn't know that, but yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I am. I am. But yeah, that person, I think the sister-in-law has got to be on the hook for the $2,400. That's the final verdict.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Sorry. Um, well, anything else you got to share for this episode? You're just dying or chomping at the bit as you say, ready to get out of here?
SPEAKER_00Exactly.
SPEAKER_01To go see Ace. Ass? I mean Ace.
SPEAKER_00Kate, you're so annoying. I just don't know what his name is. Because even when you said ace, I'm like, is that his name? I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Well, go um go write him again and see.
SPEAKER_00We're gonna go figure it out today.
SPEAKER_01Go talk to him.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna ask him what he wants.
SPEAKER_01Start shouting out random names and see which one kind of perks up his ears.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01That'll be good. That'll be funny. Honestly, I think the chips are you're gonna do, you're you're gonna be in the stall. Just start reading through names and then you're gonna see which one he turns to.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, literally.
SPEAKER_01But all right. Well, that's the end. Do you want to sign us off?
